Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find an answer to my question without much success so I decided to give it a try here. My boyfriend is taiwanese and I want to sponsor his immigration so we can both live together in the province of Quebec later on. Our plan is to move during by the end of the next summer. Since he's still in Taiwan, we're opting for an Outland application.
The process time for the Hong Kong office is 9 months + 3 months for the initial assessment so I guess it should take us around a year. The problem is that I heard the Medical Checks are only valid a year and we might have problems if it expires before my boyfriend lands in Canada. For some reasons we cannot leave Taiwan before July 2016 so I'm afraid that if we send the papers too early, he might get an answer too soon and we might be unable to go to Canada on time before the medicals expires...
I have seen some people in the spreadsheets who sent their application to the Hong Kong office and were landing around six months after they sent the papers...
Does somebody any some clue on when we should apply and what are the consequences of applying to early and not being able to make it within a year?
Thank you
