When to apply for student visa for sept2011 intake from india...

It is a good time to apply for visa so if in any case, they reject you, you will still have sometime to re-apply. Usually for Indians, it's 1st of August for September Intake.

If you have every document required for your application, then please submit it ASAP.

CHC starts dispatching visa 6 months prior to the session start. Also, if you book your ticket now (after getting visa), they will be 30-40% cheaper compared to prices near the session start.

Also, it will take into account any buffer period for your application processing.

Its always advisable to apply as soon as you get admission.Consider also when you are to start your classes.Visa process are usually very slow so the earlier the better.

VFS is a company who have the work of transferring visa application papers form their center to Embassy and vica versa.

CHC New Delhi conducted a seminar few months back for students who want to self apply their study visa. The Visa Officer were the speakers.

They (VO) told us that we can, and should apply Visa as early as possible. They start giving visa for sep batch in mar 2011 onwards.

I applied for my visa in mid May and received it in mid June.

Also, the ticket I booked few weeks back is now priced about 30k above the booking price. The earlier you book, the lower the cost is.

u will need an letter in writing that why are u applying early?
You can apply for your visa up to 01 month before you wish to travel (02 months prior for student applications) - you may wish to bear this in mind when you are making your plans(these wer his words).

They are there to just make people afraid and nothing more. GS_Stud have applied and already got his visa in 11 days. So don't be fooled by these people.

If they mentioned the letter explaining why you want to apply early.Its simple,jsut write the letter citing some strong points and drop it off to them.These things are not hard,its only that we panic a lot.

One of the parents asked this question and VO were kind of surprised. They told VFS guy (who was present in the seminar) to instruct their call center agents that students can apply 6 months before the start of the session. I think they (VFS) haven't done so.

The VO told us that they have already dispatched visa for Sep session in march (few days before the seminar; it happened in second week of Mar).

If you check this forum, and recent threads, there are at least 10-15 people who have applied in last 3 weeks in New Delhi. Candidates in Pakistan have applied more than 5 months

Having said that, we can just suggest but do no want to pry. It is your decision and you must make a choice.

Btw, I didn't submitted any letter stating why I want to apply earlier and I received my Visa without an interview, in about 2 weeks time (as a general candidate).

I think one of the reason for this fast decision was that since I applied earlier, and there were not many visa applications to process.
