Yes it can. Hopefully you will be ok, but students usually get refused if anything is below 6.

I have my vfs tracking id too. It show. Under processing at CANADA OFFICE NEW DELHI

That seems quick. Most people apply and don't even get their application started until the next day. Anyway, I was asking the OP is he had got his student visa...not if he could. His IELTS may be an issue as it is very low, but hopefully he gets it.
That letter will give you application number, uci number so you can check your application status by using gckey account but if you haven't get that mail then also you can check your application by using passport details .

I submitted my file on 23rd of April for Sept'18 Intake (Centennial College). Mine is paper based file too. However, I do want to know how you linked your profile online because when I created my account on gckey and tried to link my profile it is throwing error "no aplications found based on your criteria".
Please suggest how to link that successfully.
P.S. - I do not have the application number. Tried using name and dob option in drop down.

1) Go to this link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
2) Select: continue to Gckey
3)Select: Sign up on next page and create your username, password and security questions.
4)After creating my cic account, click link application to this account.
5)Then select category as Temporary residence and subcategory as Study permit and extension.
6)Then select Family name,given name and date of birth option.
7)Fill your family name(surname), given name and date of birth.
8)Next in applicant personal info fill passport information only and DONOT FILL CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH.
9) Fill program start and end date as well as DLI number of the institution (found in offer letter)
10) Your application will be found and can be linked.
11) You can get real time updates on your paper application.
