hello,
i have a question... my family has applied for immigration.. and we have got our visas stamped... and now planning to move to Canada in march.... my mother is the main applicant here in our case..
so my question is....
after landing in Canada... how long i have to wait to get married???
Hi Faiza,
This is what I can gather from your post:
As your Mom is the Primary applicant, you were a dependent and thus your age is either 22 or below (or maybe more depending on what was your age at the time of application and how long the application took to process)

As you have been advised, you can sponsor your spouse, however, one of the main criteria is :
You and the sponsored relative must
sign a sponsorship agreement that commits you to provide financial support for your relative, if necessary. This agreement also says the person becoming a permanent resident will make every effort to support her or himself.
You must provide financial support for a spouse, common-law or conjugal partner for three years from the date they become a permanent resident.
You must provide financial support for a dependent child for 10 years, or until the child turns 25, whichever comes first.

You may have to provide documents that would prove that you are FINANCIALLY ESTABLISHED.
Also, you have to remain in the marriage for a period of 2 yrs or the PRs will be revoked.

Good Luck.
