I am looking at a lot of items to send in for the spousal sponsorship to prove its a real marriage, and a lot of "supporting documents" are documents that would require me and my fiancé to be living in the same country.

I am just wondering what most people submit for their spousal papers when they aren't living in the same country!

Thank you

1. Are you married?
2. Have you ever lived together continuously for 1 year?

When we lived together while I was at school we lived in a little house that was owned by his parents. We son't really have any bills together besides one.

Did you live together 12 continuous months to be common-law, and do you have solid evidence that you lived together?

Just telling CIC you lived together is not enough. If you don't have proof of it (like shared lease agreement, joint accounts, mail delivered to same address, etc) there's a good chance CIC will not believe you're common-law.

We are not applying for common law. We will be applying once we are married.
The only proof I have that we lived together is all my paperwork says a specific address, and we had a internet bill in the same address with my name and he was paying for the internet.

Which is why my question is: what do couples do if they are filing and they live in separate countries (as a married couple)

Phone bills, skype conversation, emails, texts, pictures of trips taken together, pictures of your wedding, facebook conversations, letters from friends and family supporting your relationship. Anything showing communication between you guys.

I sponsored my wife to Canada via Outland. I had never officially lived with her before she landed in Canada. We dated long distance for 2+ years and then got married and I sponsored her soon afterwards. The evidence we used are ~50 photos of us visiting us in each other's respective cities, family photos (me with her family and vice versa), engagement/wedding/honeymoon photos. I sent phone logs that show we call each other often, boarding passes to show we visit each other and also showing we have traveled together on vacations. There were some other stuff I threw in there (receipt for the wedding reception hall, a wedding invitation and RSVP we got back, etc).
