Depends on the Visa office... AOR (acknowledgement of Receipt)

I have sent the application to the Delhi office and they have changed the status of my application as APPLICATION RECEIVED BY THE VISA OFFICE But no AOR had been sent to me so far.My appliction reached there on 4th June, will they take more time.

I made it in teh nmae of 'The Receiver General for Canada' but on checklist it shows 'Receiver General for Canada'.

Please guide.

Rocky are you saying that AOR is send after the checking of points and documents. I was under the impression that AOR is Acknowledgement on/of receipt. Please correct if I am wronge.

I received a letter from CIC-New Delhi on 24.06.2009, acknowledging the receipt of my full application, they have also mentioned one new file number other than the generated by CPC-S, what does this new number mean, and will anyone tell me that what will happen further.

AOR is just an acknowledgment of receipt of file, it doesn't mean that you got the qualified marks, as it is very clearly written in the letter that we will now assess whether you are eligible for processing or not.

Whether they are going to change my status from File received by Visa Office to In Process or something else and what time do i expect the next decision.

You are correct its just an acknowledgement. After that they check the eligibilty and verifications are done the if all through, Medical + RPRF + Passport Submission Request + Travel Docs (Depends upon case to case whether all 4 requested or not).
