Well, I have a lot of experience now with writing official/bureaucratic letters. When this is all over, I will probably set up a blog on applying for Canadian student visas and put up templates and such things there.
Being able to write flawless English also helps. The CHC has so far replied to every single e-mail I've ever sent them (even before I started this Study Permit application), and I think one of the main reasons for that is that I write well and I know how to write this sort of official-sounding stuff. It takes some practice to get it right.
