Dear friends,
I went through some of the discussions and found that FD is should be ~ 6 months before and should be sufficient for six months expenses however what should be tenure of the FD ? is six month enough ?
Should it be minimum tenure ?

I have got university funding however to strengthen my case can I show FD on my father's name,he is not sponsorer but just to strenghten the case,or should it be on name ?

Can any one please share the information on this.
Thanks,

Manoj

Hay All,

I just want to let you all know that according to the new regulations of Canadian High commission you can't show FD as the proof of funds.

Have a look here:

DO NOT PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS UNLESS REQUESTED TO DO SO BY A VISA OFFICER. Example of documents not to be submitted with study permit applications include: fixed deposits, property documents, documents from chartered accountants, jewellery assessments, life insurance policies

Hi abhisri200k,

Can you let me know where you found this info abt the High Commision not accepting FD as proof of funds ?

Thanks !
