I am not familiar with the TEER classification however, a Banking Advisor role at RBC is a NOC B. This means that a Client Advisor role would be a NOC C and not eligible for CEC. NOC B and above require a minimum education of a university degree. The client advisor job description would clearly not require a university degree.

Also I'm thinking it might be 22221 (user support technicians) and the responsibilities kind of matches with this. Any thoughts on this?

I applied for provincial nomination using my RBC Banking Advisor role at the time (2022). No matter how you spin it, a client advisor role is not higher than a TEER 4. You work on the frontline in a bank, so you can not be a User Support Technician - that's IT related.

Banking Advisor is completely different from Client Advisor and we do provide technical support to clients over phone. We solve issues related to their platform/system that theu face. So it kind of does fall under technical support. Some of the job description also matches.

Based on your job description, it appears to align with roles that involve client service, financial advising, and relationship management. In Canada, TEER (Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities) levels are categorized as follows:
  • TEER 1: Occupations that usually require a university degree or a master's degree.
  • TEER 2: Occupations that usually require a college diploma or apprenticeship training of less than two years.
  • TEER 3: Occupations that usually require a college diploma or apprenticeship training of two or more years or more than six months of on-the-job training.
  • TEER 4: Occupations that usually require a high school diploma or several weeks of on-the-job training.
  • TEER 5: Occupations that usually require a short work demonstration and no formal education.
Given your responsibilities of client engagement, advising, and problem resolution, your role might fit into TEER 2 or TEER 3, depending on the specific educational and training requirements of your position. It may be helpful to consult your HR department for the most accurate classification or check the official Government of Canada TEER guidelines for further clarification.

The role of a Client Advisor at RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) falls under the TEER 4 level, specifically NOC codes 6551 or 6552, which classify it as a customer service or retail banking role. These positions involve tasks such as assisting clients with financial services, performing transactions, and providing advice on banking solutions. Since this is a TEER 4 position, it is considered a semi-skilled job under Canada's National Occupational Classification system

That job description sounds a lot like what a banking advisor does, especially with the mix of customer service, tech, and problem-solving. From what I know about the TEER system, I'd say it could be around TEER 2 or 3—those levels usually cover roles that require either a college diploma or some hands-on training, which seems to fit with what you’re describing. When I worked in a customer-facing role, I dealt with similar tasks like resolving issues and building relationships, which is why it feels like it would be in that range. You might want to double-check the NOC 2021 codes for something more specific, though.

I know that from experience that CA role is teer 4 and doesn't qualify for CEC or any PR pathway. You have to be BA or higher.
