Biometric and medical is updated in the portal.
does it means my application is under process?

I received the same email confirming sponsorship approval. It also mentioned this

The Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing.

January,30 I received this since then no updates. This is the only communication I received. No biometrics and no medical requests.

The only communication I received was this in January 2023 last week--

The Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing.

No medical or biometrics requests yet.

Can anybody help me with further proceedings timeline?

Thanks.

In what country is the principal applicant? It seems some take a shorter time. But, as of today, the IRCC says 16 months since date of application until it's decided. You are almost 4 months along the way.

You mentioned no communication before January. That seems strange. Did you not even get AOR before that? In fact, it sounds like you never received an AOR at all. And your sponsorship approval took a long time coming...about 3 months. From what I have seen lately, they usually arrived in a week or so. I was starting to feel bad about me waiting 2 weeks so far. But 3 months? Ugh.
Yes, apart from the communication mentioned above haven't received anything. That too this communication happened recently in January end. So, that brings me to this forum. Is it just me or is it normal?

Also, no AOR was received. Just the sponsorship approval email.

That all seems a bit weird. But, having received sponsorship approval, I would say all is well. Getting an AOR at this stage would be redundant. Clearly your application has been received and must have passed the preliminary inspection. Otherwise, I cannot see you getting SA. Others may have a different view, but I would say things are in order. As for processing time, all I can say is the 16 months is what IRCC is saying.
I think the timeline depends on case to case and I am being told that these days IRCC is getting all the process done within 7-8 months or less. Things have slightly improved post online portal induction and they have to clear the backlogs. Just hoping for the best.

7-8 months would be amazing. I hope you are right. But then, that's why I am concerned about sponsorship approval. It seems many are coming same day as AOR and most within a week. I am now at 2 weeks.

Edit: I received sponsorship approval in my morning (Feb. 16) email.
Congrats! It all depends case to case.

Thanks PC01. We are feeling more relaxed now that SA is in hand. Now that we have it, we might take a flyer and apply for TRV. We have been denied twice since 2019, but on those occasions we were not yet married. Some say, once married, TRV is hopeless. Others say you have a better chance once married and PR application has reached SA stage. It's a crapshoot.

If no TRV, processing time for PR does not really matter whether 7 months or 16 months. We want her in Canada for part of summer, hence TRV application. I have been here in Philippines with her all winter. I have to go back next month and stay for summer. I own a large property and house there that need attention in summer. As well, it's a great oceanfront place to be in summer. Less great in winter. Whether or not she gets TRV, we (or I) will return to Philippines in October and stay here until the PR application is decided. If that's not until Feb. or March, that's fine. Just as soon be here in the period Oct.-March.

I asked before, country of PA in your case. Maybe you prefer not to answer and, if so, I understand.

Best wishes for your application.

I am sure you will get it soon. Don't worry just be patient and live in present. When its meant to happen it will happen. Till then be patient and be hopeful and be happy.

I am Indian.

Thanks again PC01. Never been to India. A place I'd like to see. My parents lived there for almost 2 years - Kanpur, U.P. I should have visited while they were there. They loved it, even though many from India say there are much better places than Kanpur to hang out. My parents were there for work, so that's where they had to be.
Glad to know that you are keen in visiting my beloved country. Do visit my country it has all the colours, flavours and essence of life that one needs to experience. I am sure you will love it. Good to know that you also know things about India. You will love India. Try to visit during winter you will have fun here.
