What is the Canadian Education Equivalent to a US CPA Certificate

I have a US CPA certificate and license to practice. I am not a US citizen or permanent resident as I am from Jamaica. I am applying for express entry for the FSW Express Entry Scheme.

I know you have to list your Education Credentials and have them assessed. My Bachelor's Degree is equivalent to a 4 year Canadian Bachelor's Degree according to WES. But I am unable to find out if I should put two or more certificates for my education as this would be the Bachelor's plus the CPA Certificate.

This would give me enough points to get ITA soon. Because right now I only have 443, with the Bachelor's degree standing alone for education.

Does anyone have any experience with this?? Please help me.

Why didn't you include your CPA certificate in the ECA? Any foreign degree/certificate must get a ECA anyway.

The bottom line is, you only had your ECA done for your bachelor's degree, so you can only include that one. If you attempt to claim 2 or more, you will be rejected at the PR stage as your ECA won't match your claim. Even US degrees and certificates have to undergo an ECA for FSW.

You can try and have your ECA amended by submitting the certificate, but as far as I understand, CPA certification is a professional, not an educational certificate.

CPA is not considered as a "professional" certificate by CIC, and it does get assessed by WES, mostly likely as a separate "Bachelor degree" (x years) according to other applicants.

That's not what I meant by "professional", but anyway. I don't think it will be recognized by WES either, unless someone can correct my admitted speculation and has actually done it.

siriusnick - you say it DOES get assessed by WES? Do you know of any cases where it was accepted and did it qualify as a certificate or separate Bachelor's degree?.. I cannot get a representative from WES to speak to about it.

Anyone has any experience with this?

My CPA Australia certificate is not accepted by WES anyway (Nov 2017). I send them both but WES only accepted the Bachelor degree.

@thanhduong01: are you from Vietnam? We have kinda the same situation, WES didn’t accept ur CPA Aus? Did they say why?

Pretty sure CPA is considered a trade certification (same as other professional designations such as PMP, CAPM, etc) and WES will not evaluate. Nor will it give you extra points for EE.
