What is status "In Process" means?

Its been almost 16 months and still no news

Wow that has been a very long time! How long does your VO say it take to complete an application?

We would probably like it to mean that someone is actually working on our application but who knows what is really going on. In my case, they have my husband's passport for the last 3 months in New Delhi and it just shows Application received. So I'll be very happy if we get the mention In Process...

Finally, if your Status is In Process means your come your final stage mean about to complete.

We transferred your application to the CIC Etobicoke office on January 10, 2012. The CIC Etobicoke office may contact you.

and i had an interview on the 13th of june 2012
i called the call center today and my aip was sent in the mail ams so happy i can cry fist stage is over she also told me my back ground check has already started processing ;D
