Hello Friends

I have heard this word CAIPS a lot of time on this forum. That we can request CAIPS. What is actually CAIPS and when and how do we request them?

I have undergone medicals in february 2010. They have not asked for RPRF and PPR along with medicals. Just waiting and waiting....

Thanks

CAIPS- Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System, the software used by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Canadian diplomatic missions to track visa applications.

Here is how you can obtain the CAIPS notes for free:

First off, you need to download the application form. You will find this at the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website at this link:

Hi,

Was wondering if the CAIPS may be used to tarck down status of initial applications sent to CIO or not?

Please guide. Thanks

Yes it can help..However please be reminded that requesting for CAIPS will have an impact on your application as this will normally delay your application...Also, please note that as an individual you are not allowed to request your CAIPS since you are not yet in Canada...

So Bahrain_Pearl, does it mean that we should only request CAIPS after reaching a certain stage in our processing? My status on the website is 'Received by visa office'. Should I request CAIPS? Will I know anymore information by doing so? Or shd I want until medicals etc?

1. You really don't need CAIPS unless their is a long delay in your application or their is an interview required.
2. Requesting CAIPS doesn't delay your application as it is just printed off the computer system in Canada, the overseas office has no involvement
3. Note to Pearl, persons outside Canada, can authorize a person in Canada to get CAIPS or they can apply through one of the commercial companies, i.e. Caipsnotes or Caips.ca

Thanks PMM for the note. I forgot to include that - you can authorize commercial companies in CA to get CAIPS on your behalf...In terms of the processing, I have mentioned it will delay your application as noted on the website of a CAIPS authorized company....i think that was Caipnotes...

No it won't the request goes to a Privacy and Access Co-coordinator in the Canadian Regional Offices or Ottawa. It has no involvement with the overseas office.
