Hello,

If I have a work visa and was hired through the LMIA process, can I switch jobs and still qualify for the express entry after 1 or 2 years?

To switch jobs you would need a new LMIA and then a new work permit.

Does that mean I would have to start over? Like... When I apply for express entry, do I need to have a year or two years of continual work?

Yes.

Not exactly. Work experience you already have in Canada will still count.
If you're applying under CEC, your work experience does not need to be continuous. Continuous work experience is only for FSW.

But if you leave your LMIA-supported job, you cannot claim the 600 points for a job offer, unless you get another LMIA.

I see. Thanks! And is it 1 year of work or 2 years of work that will give me 600 points?

No - the LMIA is what gives you 600 points.
