What happens if my application returned after June 11

Hello everyone,

I sent my application in May, but I have not received AOR yet! What happens if my application returned for any reason after the implementation of C 24 (June 11)? Do I have to wait one more year and apply under the new rules? Or I can just fix the mistake and send it again?

You'll have to wait. They stamp the front of CIT 0002 with the date they initially received it, but if it's incomplete and returned to you then it'll only count from when they receive a complete application. Those applications (returned without starting to process) aren't recorded in their system, as informed by a CIC Call Centre agent when I called.

Please be patient. It may take 1 to 4 months to receive AOR if the application is complete and not returned.

In case the application is returned due to some reason then you need to reapply under new 4/6 rules.

They can return the application in usually 1 to 3 months but the time may vary.

It's the time when CIC will check application for missing documents and signatures.

I was told 1 to 2 months to return an incomplete application by a CIC agent.
