Well you will have to get your permit at the first point of entry i.e. montreal/toronto. I did not have to face much questions other than like:afridi2482 said:Rhsan.. Share Your experience at calgary airport man as i will be leaving on 1st of september inshallah....

yes luggage will obviously get checked
well I think you are allowed to carry 200 sticks of cigs without any declaration. I suggest that you get it from inflight duty free shop...should be around $15 for 10 packs (Benson/Marlborough) and $17 for premium brands like Davidoff.
Hi Rhassan you mentioned that they will ask you on the money that you are carrying...did they also ask you for a bank statement so as to check if you still have funds for the schooling? just want to know cause my money on the bank will not be enough anymore for the 10k CAD + tuition fees because of other expenses such as like school tuition fee and my airfare. Actually I transferred the remaining to my aunts bank account in Toronto..thanksrhasan said:Well you will have to get your permit at the first point of entry i.e. montreal/toronto. 1. How much money are you carrying?
2. Have you ever been to canada before?
3. Which university are you going to?
Questions are as simple as that. After passing the immigration officer and before getting my permit at Montreal, I had to take my luggage and book them again in a air canada's luggage booking section (students staying at Qubec get their permit right after immigration while students going outside quebec get their permit at the end just before leaving the airport customs; this is for montreal). After getting my permit, I had to wait for the boarding (there was a 1.5hrs delay; very typical for air canada).
There was nothing to do (any sort of formality) at the calgary airport. Just followed the signs to exit and right before the exit, there were the conveyor belts where I had to collect my luggage and got out from the airport - leaving behind the memory of a very long journey

You can buy it from duty free shops located in the airport and also in the airplane from the inflight duty free shop. But if you carry more than 200, you will have to declare and pay extra for those I guess.afridi2482 said:Well as i told u in the other thread i will be leaving frm heathrow to calgary..
