What does CAIPS stand for?
For those of you who don’t know what CAIPS is, well it is a system that is used by CIC Immigration to update and track your application. Specifically, it stands for ‘Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System’.
Here at CAIPS Fast Tracker, we are known for our fast service and extensive interpretations of your CAIPS file. So if you feel like you have been waiting FOREVER to hear back from CIC Immigration and want to know the status of your file and how the government is interpreting it, look NO FURTHER. Here at CAIPS Fast Tracker we can explicitly track the status of your immigration application for Canada, or even the status of your work or study permit and permanent resident application in no time.
Please note that if you have JUST APPLIED TO CIC IMMIGRATION and have not yet received your CAIPS file number, but still want to check on the status of your file, we will need:
1) VISA OFFICE (i.e. where you submitted the application from?)
2) DATE OF BIRTH (i.e. January 4th, 1975- MONTH-DAY-YEAR)
3) FULL NAME
When is the best time to apply for your CAIPS file?
To get the most use of your CAIPS file and money at CAIPS Fast Tracker, it is best to apply for your CAIPS file notes after you have received your Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR). If you have not received this, it means that your CAIPS file has probably not have been created yet.
However, if you have not relieved your AOR then you can still apply for your CAIPS notes without your file number. In this case you MUST PROVIDE US WITH the three required pieces of information mentioned above (visa office, birthday, and full name).
Why Do I Need to Check My “CAIPS File”?
How is This Useful?
Sometimes you can wait a really long to hear from CIC Immigration. These delays can often be a result of problems in your applications in a letter or document, or request from CIC for some additional information, that has gone missing or been sent to an outdated address. Knowing these issues in advance can help you solve them and come to Canada sooner!
You can use the point assessment analysis on your CAIPS file to verify that the visa office is interpreting your application in the way that you had intended. Sometimes VISA offices can make mistakes and compute your point score differently than what you told them or had hoped for. In this situation, getting CAIPS Fast Tracker to provide you with an analysis of your CAIPS file is very beneficial because you will have the opportunity to provide more document before CIC Immigration does the final assessment.
Once the file is assessed you might have to wait 12-15 months to correct any misunderstandings. The CAIPS file will also have an indication as to when the formal assessment will occur – known as the bring forward date.
INTERVIEWS: It is best to know the interpretation of your CAIPS file from CIC Immigration before your interview. This is the most common reason applicants request their CAIPS file specifically because the file will, more cases than not, have the appropriate information about why the applicant is being interviewed.
If you have any more questions or would like to inquire further into CAIPS notes etc. I am more than willing to help.
