Everybody is talking about virtual citizenship oaths but there are no updates about Citizenship test ?

Any updates about how are the tests being conducted? I am from Toronto and i got a test invite on March 2nd to write on 25th March and on 14th March got an email that it has been canceled because of Covid19 ?

Haven't heard any updates since then.

Very very less probability ... as test must be conducted is secure area as no way an applicant can cheat the exam.. anyways hope for the best

Hi guys,

I am on the same boat, applied for citizenship on August 2019 and moved to Australia since, waiting on any test invite news since it'll be so difficult to fly all the way back to Canada in these times. If anyone knows or has any updates on citizenship tests please share!

Best to everyone,

Cisco and Microsoft have turned to at-home testing and they are doing just fine. They insist you install their own exam software so they know what programs you have running, and you have to be on webcam with minimal fidgeting and you have to show them a 360 of the entire room before you start.

It's legit and it is potentially the way moving forward.

I highly doubt the naysayers have a clue about at-home examinations. I'm facing up to 6 exams @ home this year so it's very real.

Why is the test necessary? Does it really test anything apart from rote memorization skills? How many natural born citizens know who Laura Secord is? Don't people who fail twice get interviewed and given citizenship anyway? Common sense dictates that IRCC get rid of this test, but thats hoping for too much i know.

I have done my test/interview in Feb 2020 and waiting for Oath, now I am moving from Edmonton to Ontario what will be the effect on my Oath.

I think testing will start around september when offices open

Simply because that's when their CERB is gonna end...

read the first comment, it explains it all...
True, I hope they start taking test while practicing social distancing. If everything is going back to normal following social distancing why not tests. I think they have the power to even give direct oaths if they can not do test because of pandemic or do online test or make a an online course plus test at the end of it.They can not keep it like this for another year or so until the vaccine is made and distributed. If they do, We all will be facing very long processing times.
