For the guys who are on ICT visa, which is Labour exempted, and completed or about to complete 12 months in Canada...
how will the system work?

They will obviously not get the 600 points that are for Arranged Emp or PN/TN.
What will be their chances of getting the invite?

Hi Maple,
Thanks for posting this question. Even i would like to know as i am on ICT and about to complete 1 year..

Thanks,
Lucky...

My question is more of this.

For the guys who are on ICT and are planning to continue with same employer... what are the options?
It obviously means that they not interested to "promote" themselves through job bank or any such medium and they are ok to continue with same employer. What are their options?

Lets say somebody on ICT with 4+ yrs of Canada exp.. he may get max ~500 points by including all the points that he can possibly get because of her Canadian exp. He will still in the bottom of the list compared the guys who got AE / PN / TN.

On the other hand, how realistic is it for somebody outside Canada in places like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Phillipines etc getting an Arranged Employment? He must be really really skilled in a very rare skill set..
Canadian employers always prefer F2F interviews only from what we have seen on blogs..

Hi All, Any suggestion/updates on the query posted

regards..

If you were eligible for an ICT work permit, chances are very good (I would think) that your employer would be approved for an LMIA. If your employer could be convinced of the benefits of you obtaining PR status, why wouldn't they support it?

Having a foreign employee become a PR is a benefit to the employer (not just the individual) because - No more WORK PERMITS!!! No more questions about your status in the country! If your employer likes the idea of having you in place long-term, I don't think it should be too hard to convince them...

Easier said than done.
You probably may be coming from other places where employers are that open to provide these details.

Why would employer worry about supporting CEC employees on ICT visa if they are going to stay another 12 months?
To me it means that they are stuck with temporary contact in EE pool, and the chances to be picked up don't look positive :(

What about those who came here with a LMO that is valid for another year and will complete their one year Canadian experience? Do their employer need to again go through LMIA process and offer a job to retain them? Or candidates can apply using the existing LMO?

Thanks,
Aarti

Not entirely clear:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/hire/offers.asp

If you have a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment for an employee holding a temporary work permit to whom you wish to extend a permanent job offer, the LMIA may still be valid under Express Entry. However, if the position or person was previously exempt from an LMIA, then a new LMIA will be required under Express Entry.

May, might, maybe... Not specified under what conditions.

How about in case of Intra Company Transfer employee with Permanent job offer working for 12 months? Do they have to get LMIA? Does these ppl get 600 points when applying under CEC?

Siva..
If you are on ICT, it means that you have bypassed LMO.
They wrote clearly on the site that if same employer is extending you a permanent offer, he needs to get LMIA done.

Aarti,

You should ok if you manage to get the confirmation from same employer that he offered you a "Permanent" job instead of temporary job that is bound to the expiry of LMO.

Hi Guys

I am on this boat ( ICT )

As per current calculations I will get around max (530-538) . Not yet given IELTS.
Currently working in Canada but will miss out on 600 points for AE.

So as per the new system there is no advantage of presently working in Canada v/s previously worked in Canada :(

Did you check your score correctly? You are almost getting 600 / 600 if we include IELTS..

Messed up !!

Will not be getting 24 points as I dont know french.

So probable score is around 510

I assumed a score for IELTS
