What’s all the negativity for? Let’s show appreciation

Hi everyone,
I realize waiting for an AIP or study permit is atrocious and is killing us softly. However, I see so many negative comments on IRCC. We should be aware that getting a study permit or whatever temporary residence in Canada is a privilege not a right.
I would like to see many of us thanking the visa officers for their patience and efforts instead of badmouthing them.
I have applied in March and haven’t heard anything back. Yet, I am still waiting and whatever the outcome is I’ll respect that. Yes it could be unfair and all that, but hey this is life.
Let’s be patient and grateful. Also be optimistic. If you’re honest about your intentions, you’ll get it. All the best to you all.

Great to see this kind of initiative :)
Even I would reckon the same !
There’s nothing we can do, apart from being OPTIMISTIC. We all know that IRCC is working this way simply because of the Pandemic, otherwise they function pretty smoothly. No point in bad mouthing them, the entire world has turned upside-down. Let’s hope for the best for everyone :)

1- Any country that you are trying to get visa for is a privilege. It's not a right even if you pay 100s and 1000s of dollars. No country forced you to choose them. You made a decision based on a research, it's up to you now to put up with the process.
2- You have the option to apply under Non-SDS category and not pay a single dime before your application is approved for visa. Again, it was your decision to apply under SDS category to fast track the application. But because of the Covid19 situation, each applicant suffered regardless of the category they applied in.
3- Again, they encouraged to apply, not forced. You as an applicants had the choice to defer to a different session and/or altogether drop the idea of going abroad to study this year.
4- Well, stuff happens. Sometimes things go your way, sometimes they don't. It's not the country that makes the life unfair, it's the poor decisions of the individuals that leads them to believe it.
5- Which countries? If you knew other student dominant countries are dropping sessions and are not encouraging students to apply, then why apply for a country i.e., Canada where naturally every student that wished to apply for other countries will try to apply to get out of home country (I mean 80% apply for this reason only instead of getting education)?
6- It has nothing to do with Trump. Canada has always been a huge destination for students for ages. I've been on this forum for 10 years now and people were crazy about Canada a decade ago and they still are. Again, if you have too many concerns with Canada before getting in to the country, I'd advise you to withdraw the application and apply to a country which is willing to provide your first class service as a student. Please.

Thanks!

You've got some good points. But,
1. If studying is privelage then what kind of country is that? There are countries where eduation is free for everyone and no visa issues but the problem is their language (not english).
2. Why does IRCC require upfront full year tuition fee otherwise reject applications even for non-sds? Not everyone is millionare, some take loan and pay interest.
3. If they cannot process due to covid, why encourage to apply?
4. Life is not unfair, countires like canada make it unfair.
5. Other countires are suffering from coronavirus too, they have strictly told not to apply because they cannot process applications.
6. Tell me before trump how many applied for canada? Very few, and if this behaviour of canada continues, I wonder if it will have any study permit applications in future.

look I payed money not for crappy service... if you cannot process applications due to covid, its better to tell the truth and halt all new students to apply
Oh, even if they did, no one will stop and wait for it to open again and will complain about being too harsh to the students. People will always complain, regardless of the service they get.

sorry my friend but I disagree completely with you, I applied 13 May with a complete application, and I spent a lot of money for that application, a 2000 CAD for a lawyer and the application itself and the translation of all the documents and in the end its really possible that they will just refuse the application just because the program already has started, that's terrible and not fair. When I applied the processing time was 7 weeks and now I have been waiting for almost 14 weeks and didn't hear anything.so i don't think i will thank them for making this delay and refuse me because of there delay. and in the last month they were still are encouraging people to apply with a not even complete application whereas they did not yet answer the people who applied with a completed application, and the fall 2020 program is starting really soon. Its crazy really.

For people who are complaining, you guys do realize there is a pandemic going on right? When was the last time the entire world faced a pandemic like this?
I don't think IRCC delayed applications last year or any other year. They were usually spot on when it comes to processing time.
I know this is tough for everyone. But the officers who are working are normal people working under extremely tough conditions.

No.. looks like 90% of ignoring the fact that there's a pandemic happening this year and everything is ****ed up for everyone. But no, everyone trying to be Karen right now.. I paid the money, it's my right to get service. Can we speak to IRCC's manager?

I agree with you. Getting a study permit is a privilege and not a right. While we can be sad that things aren't moving fast, we shouldn't enforce to make them move fast. We do need to appreciate the fact that atleast Canada is trying to pull through this situation with least damage to applicants unlike other countries (cough US) which is outright flipping the bird to immigrants. I don't see any other country arranging webinars trying to answer to some of the questions people may have. I don't see other countries trying to make their visa processing flexible. A country will always look out for its own citizens and we should raise our voice to cry about the fact that we aren't being given entry into the country. The process is slow, we get it, but the demand is the same as last year. So it is wise to cut them some slack and try to appreciate what they are trying to do. Let's not overplay our complain card.

Let's be grateful they gave students a chance, maybe not everyone will get the SP but still. Be grateful they're at least accepting people, not throwing them out of the country or forgetting completely. Y'all be acting like you know everything and you know what's going on with IRCC and how they're processing applications, but the truth is you don't know anything. COVID has affected EVERYONE, not just you. And like come on now, what do y'all get from complaining? Y'all not helping the situation, not changing anything, only spreading negative vibes and discouraging others.

you can meet the manager in the useless webinar conducted by IRCC every week. Is there no pandemic for conducting webinars?
Pandemic is the reason that this webinar is happening. There was no need for this last year and I don't think it used to be held this frequently in the past (even if it did).
