WES timeline for 2018

So discouraged. Doing wes for spouse and University has not included Diploma certificate (original/translated). Being sent from Latvia and with Easter holidays that means a setback of at least 3-4 weeks. Now this may sound bad, but im actually hoping for less frequent draws until we finish, so some back to back ones can be carried out by the time we are done with this i guess sometime mid-May. Because even with all that we are doing, being 36 yrs old and married has its affect on points and we will be standing at about 436-438.

University will not include diploma certificate in your sealed transcript. You have to send them yourselves.

Thanks for your reply, but it wasnt the case with my 2 degrees (bachelor from India, masters from Germany), i did not have to send anything extra.

Anyhow - now that we are here, whats the best way to proceed? Wife`s diploma is in Latvian and we need it in English. Have written to the University, but unsure if they provide English translated version. So its possible that they may be able to send both original and translation copies, but wont know that till after Easter holidays, which is middle of next week in Europe.

no, nothing. whatever the Germany University sent was accepted as is and the Indian sealed envelope i received in my hands, and forwarded to wes, did not send anything extra at all.

So just wanted to confirm - the diploma copy does not need to be in SEALED envelope right? Just the document copy (in my case with translation)?

Why not send the document copy along with the sealed Transcript just to be on the safer side?

Transcript was already sent and confirmed by wes.. Whatever happened. That too was received in CAN on 19th and they took 11 days to let me know of this... Very upsetting news, but gotta deal with this as fast as we can.

By my reckoning they need a copy of your degree certificate along with a translation and I'm assuming that most probably the college hasn't provided them in the sealed transcript envelope and by my understanding of what you've said you expected them to be in the sealed envelope so you just sent the documents as is to WES.

In India at least, usually, the universities do not include degree certificate copy within the transcript envelope. We have to send a copy of the certificate separately to WES.

In your case, it appears that the university has only sent the marksheets within the sealed envelope, so you'll have to send a copy of your degree certificate along with a translation into English or French. I'm not clear what other documents you may need (certificate of the translator etc) so you may need to verify this with WES. Once you get all the documents, send them to WES and wait for 3 days, your documents will get accepted and they'll start reviewing.

Will try to get the English translation from the University itself to make sure nothing is missed, else will do it from authorized service. Main thing is the weeks lost i suppose. I read somewhere that fax may be used where only copies are required (such as the diploma certificate and translation copy), so sent a question to wes about that as well. If that will be an option, it will save us 2 weeks at least.

Yes you'll lose some time but this is nothing compared to the waiting you'll do post ITA!
I'm pretty sure WES does not have a fax option. I've seen some companies offering to take a faxed page and send it to WES on your behalf. My suggestion is not to go for them. If by chance, WES does not receive a clear, legible copy because of the fax or the company sending the fax, your application will get delayed. If I were you I'd send the documents via a courier.

Thanks for advice! I guess youre right. Why risk even more delay.. Im worried that our crs (that will be about 436-438 - waiting for spouses ielts), may be just a little short this year and if any back to back draws are going to happen, that will be our best chance, so im a little worried to miss that.

The draw isn't in your hands. Just do your best and hope for the best outcome. No one can accurately predict the draw outcome.

True. The last two draws shows a decline of 10 points. 85th draw stands at 456 and 86th draw was at 446. Hope for the best to decrease it more so that we all get the ITA. Fingers Crossed.
