WES HELP!!! URGENT!!!!

Hello there,

I am going to apply for WES Evaluation myself for Canada's Express Entry. I am confused on which one to choose -

1. WES ICAP (Transcripts + Evaluation + Storage) OR WES Basic
2. Course-by-Course (with GPA & course-levels) OR Document-by-Document Evaluation (under each head in point 1)

Further I got with me -

1. Bachelor Of Engineering In Computers from Mumbai University, INDIA (4 years course)
2. Postgraduate Certificate In Distributed And Network Computing from Aston University, INDIA (1 year course)

Do either under 1 and 2 above, I will get both of my degree and certificate evaluated OR do I need to order (add-on) an additional "UPGRADE A COMPLETED EVALUATION" for the second Postgraduate Certificate by paying CAD $100 extra as per the page - http://www.wes.org/ca/fees/schedule.asp

Plus which courier is the best as believe WES want envelope closed completely as I have to courier my BE Degree myself.

Please help ASAP!!!

Karan.... in my opinion if you don't have a job offer and don't have LMIA then you are not eligible to receive 600 points.
Thus, if I would have been in your position then I would have tried to get as many points as I can. And that you can do by accumulating the points earned through certifying degrees and diploma.

Therefore get all your degree and diploma certified. Please remember money cannot buy ITA for PR, so don't hesitate to invest.

Buddy even in order to make some starting points or at least to figure out the first step, I need to get the things done - say to get it done with IELTS as well as ECA - unless and until, the second thing the job offer and LMIA - well that is on second on my agenda - as first I am considerably intended to get all the possible points which I can get instead just waiting and see when I will get any job offer and LMIA.

no worries Karan, its a good start. Please remember if you are in Canada then CELPIP is another alternative to IELTS.

Follow these steps for a hassle-free experience with WES

1. Get a provisional assessment done for all your educational qualifications at this link http://www.wes.org/ca/evaluations/preliminary.asp

2. Based on the provisional assessment report, you can decide which qualifications are likely to be validated as equivalent to Canadian credentials and also at what level.

3. After this, you can take an informed decision to apply for ECA from WES. You need to apply for Document-by-Document evaluation and you can decide to do this for single/multiple qualifications.

4. Once you've created your WES profile online, received the reference number, you'll have to send them official transcripts (signed off by the concerned authority at your University and sealed & signed by the same authority) in a sealed envelope to WES Canada.

5. You can send multiple sealed covers corresponding to multiple qualifications INSIDE one master sealed cover so that you save on some courier expenses. Include your Degree certificate copies separately as well. DHL, FedEx are usually reliable and have efficient tracking methods. Do not forget to superscribe the outside envelope with your reference number so that the receiver at WES know that this belongs to your file.

6. Keep a track of the status changes on your WES account online to see if they want you to do something else. Otherwise, expect a response from them in 4-6 weeks.

PS: I don't think your PG Certificate will fetch points. Do a provisional assessment before trying to send documents about that to WES.

Basically you can choose the required method of submitting documents as shown below:

Also for Mumbai University there is a special requirement, please see below:
B.Eng.
Mark sheets for year 2 and 3 of your study program (semesters 3-6) may be issued and attested by the college you attended. Mark sheets representing year 1 and 4 of study must be issued and attested by the University of Mumbai.

For all other degrees earned through the University of Mumbai, marks sheets for all years of study must be issued and attested by the university or the autonomous college you attended.

Go for WES Basic, don't waste money on ICAP. Coz in the end you will only go to university and get your documents attested in a sealed envelope.

Also, please choose FedEX from India to send courier to WES. The are the best

I've already answered that. Please read my post again carefully. Also look at this FAQ link (http://www.wes.org/ca/immigrants/faq.asp) which states that for immigration purposes you should choose Document-by-Document evaluation.

And yes, you can get both evaluations done in single order. But before you waste hard earned money, do a provisional assessment first.

And read Sushil's post as well because apparently Mumbai works slightly differently for WES.

And got ITA on Feb 20
