Water damaged passport w/ valid canada visitor visa

My dad’s passport got water damaged along with little bit his visitor stamp but it’s still valid. I understand we need to renew the passport but my concern is about his visa stamp. What do we need to do to get the stamp again on his new passport?

Despite water damaged, the passport might also not needed to be replaced.

He needs to change the passport because the passport cover is damaged completely. But my main concern is about the stamp how we can handle that
