What if Ross and Joey need to do some initial checking on the files at the time the file is assigned and that these initial checks must be done ASAP after assignment ? (to refer them for more in-depth background check for example, during the wait while they process other files). Then you can have a 3rd guy, let's say Steve, who'll need to do only those preliminary checks. But what if they don't have money to pay Steve? Or what if the processing agent will end-up doubling Steve's work? Or what if it's more efficient to just have Steve do files and work like that instead? This way they can do more files.
I have no clue how they work. All I know the last two times I asked our MP for an update one our case is when CIC seems actually work on our file.

Update on our case. We just got requested an ARC. That means we need to write a letter about why my husband should be given authorization and allowed back into Canada, pay a fee and some other supporting documents. We will do this week. I hope this it and near the end!!

Update on my side, I got PPR! Going to submit my passport at Moscow's VFS on Thursday

Hello. I received a letter from Moscow. They invite me on interview. I read on this forum that during interview officers search cellphones for facebook messages and other messages. But my letter from VO says "Applicants are also discouraged from bringing mobile phones or other electronic devices, such as Blackberries, iPods, PDAs and remote-entry automobile keys, to the Embassy. Holders of such items will be delayed for searches and examination." and "The Embassy does not accept proof of relationship in electronic format".
Can some advise if I should bring my phone to interview if they want to search it or should I leave it at home? Maybe this depends on country requirements or other VO have different requirements. Maybe some attended interview in Moscow, please advise.

You can bring your phone and other stuff like that to embassy but you will need to leave the phone in a cubbyhole, turned off. The security search will be slower if you have many.
So I would take your phone if you need it (these days, probably all guests have phones with them). If you wish to provide eg some proof of your electronic communications, I can only suggest you print a few pages and bring with you.
