Be positive! I'm sure your application will be approved soon! Seven months could mean anytime now! Did they ever request additional documents? Have you emailed for a status?

Ok, great - Ottawa is a better option (we live in Canada together). Thanks! (I am way ahead of myself on this, didn't even file the application yet  ) Thanks!

They didnt request any additional documents, I sent everything at once.
I did email them from my wifes email, they just said that soon she will receive an invitation for an interview in the Moscow office, hopefully something will happen by June.

Hello PO78

So we are in identical situations i see :)
Feb 2016 and you already have a passport request
I applied at the beginning of November and still waiting..
I omitted my daughter all together from the application process, she has both her PL and CDN passports already as well.
I believe the photo part is only for family members being sponsored. If you and your daughter are both Canadian citizens you don't need to provide any photo's. Only the sponsored spouse.

Cheers and good luck :)
thanks, good luck to you as well!

yCongrats!!!!! So happy for all you guys! :)

just a quick question: visa-exempt (Poles), after DM do not normally get a passport request, correct? IRCC only asks for a copy of the passport? Also: where in Mississauga did you mail the application to: Station A or Station B? And finally: how did you describe photos - did you write who's in them, when they were taken, etc, on the back of each photo? and do you write in first or third person ("this is me and X" vs "this is X and Y")? And did you send originals or copies of bills, lease agreement, bank statements, etc? does that depend on where you come from (i.e. does IRCC expect originals from some ppl and copies of other ppl?). Thanks :)

Hello,

To answer some questions in point form :)

-Not sure about the first point, haven't got a passport request yet, we provided a copy of both our passports in the initial application, given that both my wife and I traveled a few times to Canada, we provided this as additional proof of our relationship. Perhaps someone else can follow up and comment.
-in the guide it's listed as "Sponsorship: (Type of sponsorshipFootnote *),Case Processing Centre ─ Mississauga,P.O. Box 3000, Station A, Mississauga, Ontario, L5A 4N6
-we pasted our photo's into a powerpoint presentations. We had a total of 6 presentation for each year we knew one another, total of around 150 pages after print. Our photo's were in chronological order. Each slide grouped a specific event or special day we shared and had a lengthy general description as the title. Under each photo, we listed who was inside, or added additional comments if needed, etc.
-Up to you which person you wish to write in. The photographs are on the side of the sponsored person, so you can say this is me (john) with my wife (anna) for example :)
-We sent printouts of our airline tickets and confirmation if they were digital and the same for reservation at hotels. We didn't provide original bills since it would be too much to translate from Polish to English. I think copies are ok as long as they are in english. I screen shot our bank account to show it was in both of our names. I translated some documents my self and added a statement under each that if official translations are necessary / required, we will be more than happy to offer them. I think it's important to show that you are willing and not hiding anything.
-It all depends on your case i would assume. How long you have been with the person and how much info you're able to provide. The more the better. All depends how long you relationship lasted for.

Hope this helps :)
Cheers

Hi there, thanks so much! Ok, so the mailing address for the application is the 'sponsorship' address, station A, yes? As for passport, I will submit copies, and he will as well (he lived in Poland for 2 years and then came to visit me a few times); from what I see from this thread some ppl are not asked to send in their passports, so I am assuming that visa-exempt nationals do not have to. With the evidence - I'd say we have a lot, so hopefully it will be fine, but I was uncertain whether you send, for instance, originals of the tax return or bank statements, or do you make a copy and send them the copy? And finally - tell me please, which documents did you have to get notarized? there is some confusion here, from what i'm seeing, as to what a certified translation and a notarized copy mean - for documents in Polish a certified translation is required, for stuff that is not documents (like receipts and the like,or our conversations if they were in Polish which they were no) could just be my translation with info that I can provide a certified trans if needed; the only notarized document that I thought I need is one of the letters from out friends and family describing our relationship. Is that correct? Thanks :)
