Hi,

Does anybody know what all the possible results of an application are?
Only approved/refused or there is anything else?

I heard of some cases where the applicant was banned from entering Canada for two years. Is this applicable for everybody who gets his application not approved?

Thanks.

The ban is for 5 years - not 2 years (it was recently increased). This ban is not for all application refusals. It's for refusals where the application was found to have misrepresentation (i.e. the applicant materially lied in their application - for example said they were single when they were actually married, failed to list past visa refusals, etc.).

Thank you scylla for your information.

Yes, I also noticed from the recent Act and Regulations that the period of inadmissibility for offense of misrepresentation is now five years.

I was also aware of, for misrepresentation, is for sure applicable for such ban. However, I could not find clear evidence from the Act/Regulations supporting otherwise, i.e, for 'normal' refusal, it's just a refusal and nothing more.
