I also received similar email just now..
If you are like quink you will receive your or after 1 week hopefully

Gave another call to CIC today. The agent told me that they have got some technical issues with my card and now they need to do it again. I can expect my card anytime from now to next 6 weeks. When I asked him further, he told me that i do not need to do anything on my part. It was just a technical issue and they need to do it again. :-X

However, my spouse's card has already been mailed though not yet received.

Have you recd any email notification like below?

Just received an AOR email for my PR Card! Anyone else got that email before?

Subject: Citizenship & Immigration Canada: R*********

UCI: ********

This confirms that your application for your Permanent Resident card has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2015/09/30.

YOUR NAME?

When should I contact CIC?

You must notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) of any changes to your application. Examples of changes include:

Appointment or change of immigration representative or designated individual;
Decision to withdraw your application;
Change of contact information: e-mail, mailing address, telephone number;
You found your lost PR card - application for replacement is in process, card must be destroyed, replacement application not yet in process.
Changes to your address should be made through our online service at www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp.

How do I check the status of my application?

You may use your 8-digit Unique Client Identifier (UCI) number located on this correspondence to check the status of your application on the CIC website. Please visit www.cic.gc.ca/english and in the "Most requested" section on the right-hand side of the page, select "Check your application status".

How long will it take to process my application?

Processing times vary. You can consult the processing times by visiting the CIC website at www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp.

Please be aware that answering e-mails takes time away from processing applications. For this reason, unless your application has exceeded normal processing times, please limit your correspondence to notifying us of changes in your application.

Sincerely,

Permanent Resident Card Centre – Sydney

No, I didn't receive this email or any other email from CIC regarding my PR Card

For the guys getting the email...

My email was received on 4th January at 5:19pm Pacific time. My PR Card is dated 5th January, so the card was created one day after the email.

What's funny is that not everyone who has their card by now got the email. I wish for the sake of everyone still waiting that CIC could just be consistent with their process. It would make everyone's lives so much easier.

The letter states the following:

Sir/Madam,

This letter is to inform you that your Permanent Resident Card cannot be issued without a compliant/acceptable photo.

The photograph provided does not meet the required specifications. It is therefore impossible to produce the card until you provide the following:

You must send:

Two (2) new photos

Your photos must meet the specifications set out in the attached document.

Please return this letter and photos by mail to:

Case Processing Center - Permanent Resident Card
PO Box 4500
Sydney, NS B1P 6L1

A pre-addressed envelope is enclosed for your convenience.

Should you have any questions, please visit our website at www.cic.gc.ca.

Thank you.

Hi,

Could you please confirm me how CIC inform about the photo resend request like the request is posted via mail or they send you an email for this? Also, if you could share the details how to submit the photo back to CIC and is there any other document required along with photo?

Health cards are done by the province - totally separate. However it's still a Canadian bureaucracy, so it's always best to assume that there will be unexplainable delays. ;)

HELLO ALL,
should we apply for Health Card after receive PR card ? or before that we can apply?

Ladies and gentleman, 105 days after landing I finally received my card in the mail today! 8)

Confirmed that it is the new design - larger photo, no PR type listed, and RFID wiring embedded (you can see it in the bottom half of the card if you hold a bright light behind it).

I was not asked to re-submit photos, and I sent them photos with my Ready for Visa package from the old smaller specs. It's the same image that is on my CoPR, so the old specs didn't seem to cause a problem. Anyone that has been asked to resubmit photos, it's confirmed that it must be for some other reason - the new design is not the problem.

SOOOOOOO HAPPY to finally receive this. Now the process is 100% completed and done with. :D :D

If I never have to interact with CIC ever again it will be too soon....... ;)

Best of luck to everyone else still waiting. Yours will come eventually.

Congratulations Quink !!!

It depends on which province you are living in, if you've already been in Canada for at least 3 months you have the ability to obtain a health card... well that is the case in B.C., however depending on your salary and your employer you may have to pay for this in fact they can actually back date your payments to when you were applicable to be able to receive one and you can claim back any receipts you may have for doctors you met with.
I know Ontario does it differently to B.C. - so mention your province when asking for info.

No I don't.

I asked several times, if there was any excel that was tracking the PR card. I didn't any response. So I created this.

If you want to copy this data to the old and merge. Go ahead. But please keep posting the excel sheet once few days, so people are aware of such a sheet. Otherwise it will get LOST.
