Couldn't find a similar thread and thought it would be a good idea to start one for those who have successfully landed and are waiting for their PR card.

Landing Date Landing Location PR Card Received Date

August 22, 2013 Fort Eerie, ON

OMG I AM SO MAD RIGHT NOW !!!!!!!! :'( :'( :'( :'( called CIC the agent told me that apparently i have to submit new pictures ! when i was landing i had a set of new pictures because i knew from this forum that this is a very common thing that they can't use the picture we had on our initial application.. I landed on April 16th in Etobicoke office and the lady who was interviewing me for the landing was not very friendly. I asked her to please take the pictures i had for PR card. but she refused it saying that the one on my initial application are good .. and she was very rude about it.. and now after waiting over 3 months i have to send in the photos and wait for God knows how much longer !!! I have a wedding to go to Mexico and my trip is already booked for August 21 st :( i doubt they will process everything by than :( i am so mad !!! why did it take CIC so long to send me a request for new pictures ! and they only told me about it after i called them to inquire about it.. this is ridiculous !!
Sorry guys had to vent..

I can totally understand your frustration sister. I would recomend you to fly to Mexico from the USA. Upon your return to Buffalo airport (if you live in Ontario), rent a car and drive to Canada with your COPR. It's not as convenient as flying directly to your destination, but if this event is important for you then you definitely have a way out.

Hi all, just now I spoke to the call centre agent, she told me that my cards were mailed to my home address on Monday and I should receive them any time.

I landed on April-18th...

Good luck all the applicants, who are still waiting for the card...

I am so sorry to hear that. The reason you got the request is, apparently (as I was told by some CIC call agent that sounded like he actually knew what he was talking about), they do some "processing" for the card first, which takes a couple of weeks, and AFTER they're done they scan the photos and check if they are good enough. Then they either send a request for new ones or print the card. God only knows what "processing" means, since we were all approved and landed as immigrants, they never explained that part, but they keep repeating that "card is in process".

Landed on April 18th as well. Card mailed on Tuesday. So good news to everyone, they seem to work everyday now. Previously I thought CIC guys only mail out cards once every two weeks or something...

Landed on April 19th, got PR Card today... :) ;) :D ;D 8) :P :P :P :P

I had changed the Mailing address to my current home address while landed (Before it was my Lawyer's office Address), still the card was sent to my Lawyer's office..... :D

Good luck to those who are still waiting

I am in Toronto and landed on Rainbow Bridge at Niagara... I am not sure when the card was mailed to me....

How do you guys manage to get a call agent to tell you the status? Aren't you being told to call back after 8x days?

Phew, finally got my PR card today. I got my Ohip and pr card the same day. ;D

I dont know this is very strange, I have heard that the call centre reps were not willing to help even during the PR application processing.... May be it depends on which area you are calling from as I believe they have multiple call centres...

BTW... my card was mailed by CIC on Monday and Friday afternoon I received it (Edmonton)

Hi everyone

I landed as a PR on July 15, 2015 and now in queue for PR card. Just wondering, is CIC consistent with the amount of time they take to issue PR cards? I mean I have a friend who received his PR card on 32nd day after landing and he landed in April this year. Don't know what to expect.

The problem is that I have to be in India for my wedding, which is in mid October. That is approximately 3 months from now. I have a ticket for July 21, 2015. I am confused as to leave or not. The thing is considering they are taking 3 months to issue the PR card, what's the point in waiting since it doesn't matter if I leave now or October beginning, I would have to leave without the PR card. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't ask if I were not desperate for help. I really hope somebody could help me. Thank you.

Regards
karan

PS I have a visa for United States and I was thinking of coming back to Seattle and then driving to Canada. That is because the CIC website says it is okay to enter Canada on a personal vehicle without a PR card.
