As per CIC website 42 Working days

Just to add, when I was waiting for mine, CIC website showed less than 30 days, it still took 45 days to get it, so I would not rely on that number...

and does the PR card go my lawyer's address? It was showing as my mailing address on my PPR mail. Or does it get set to the address that is given at the time of landing? At the time of landing the officer asked for address proof and i gave my residential address.

I am not sure, sorry. Although I don't know how would they know, since CBSA and CIC don't really share data, as far as I know. I understand you want to be sure, maybe somebody else will know.

Hi Space,

It does not impact processing of PR card application whether you are in country or not. I left Canada after landing and came to US. Also,I travelled with COPR from US to canada by my car. My PR card processing was normal. Only printing department took 2-3 weeks more; it happened to couple of other people too who were in Canada.

So you can travel to US.

Hi Space,
I know that I can travel by personal vehicle and cross border without PR card. I can travel with COPR document. Someone posted that CIC will not send PR Card to canadian address if applicant is NOT present in canada.. is it right??

Your question has been answered :)

Hi there,

I received my card today. So happy that i can travel now

Here is the timelines:

Landed: Mar 04, 2015
Card issued: April 9
Received: April 16

So it tooks like 35 days for CIC to process, and 7 days for mailing. Even though at the time i landed, the processing time was 18 days
