Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Hey Guys I have a Question, Hope some one can help me

- After landing can I leave Canada before getting PRCard or Not (just for 3-4 week holiday to my home country) ?
Note : I already have Visa for Canada on my passport
Is their any chances CBSA will create any issue in entering why I don't have PR card with me .etc..

Please suggest

I don't see any problem if you have a multiple entry visa. The visa they issued for immigration is a single entry one.

I was in impression that I can not leave Canada until i will get hard copy (irrespective of I have Canada visa which is valid till Sep 2015)

So what I understand I can go for vacation to my country if i have Multiple visa on my passport

Hi CEC_1304,

I will advise you to double check once more. As per my understanding all your prior visas become invalid the moment you become a Permanent Resident of Canada. You would need a new traveling document in case you need to travel before your PR cards comes.

I don't see any problem if you have a multiple entry visa. The visa they issued for immigration is a single entry one.

Multiple entry visa you have is a visa which is valid until your status was in Canada as Visitor/Worker , though your status is changed which is PR all prior work permits and visas will be nullified

You need to get a travel document to get back in canada from your home country .

I applied from Brazil. It took 3 business days to be ready (around 50 dollars) . The stamp in my passport looks like a regular visa, is valid for 6 months and multiple entries. It says Permanent Resident on it.

I presented my LOPR and copy of my air ticket.

I did my PR landing on Aug16, 2014 and still havent received any thing yet. I called CIC. All I know is they are doing some sort of further review of my case and no ETA provided. Has anyone had the same issue? I am kind of worried atm.
