Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Congratulations.

We are still awaiting PR (landed on 20th March). My son followed up again with CIC today and was told " it's under varifcation"
I really don't understand what do they mean by this and why ' varification' in some cases takes so long as almost 110 days have passed since we landed.

It's really very very frustrating.

Hope participants will find following information regarding generation of PR useful which i have copied from a posts
Related to cases under verification.

Process Step for PR Card generation

• Visa office Completes personal information in CAIPS/FOSS relating to height and eye colour
• Visa office Verifies photos are taken within the past year in accordance with R56(2)(e)(i) and otherwise meet prescribed specifications
• Visa office Affixes photographs on IMM 5292B in accordance with established standards
• Visa office Verifies client identity and integrity of travel document for purposes of IMM 5292B
• POE/Inland CIC Verifies the identity, photo and witness' signature
• POE/Inland CIC Ensures photograph/signature meet established specifications
• POE/Inland CIC Complete Supplementary Identification Form [IMM 5455B] for photo
• retakes/signature corrections
• POE/Inland CIC Validates passport, counterfoil and holder's copy of the IMM 5292B,
• indicating any corrections that may apply in FOSS
• POE/Inland CIC Verifies/obtains client mailing address and counsels accordingly to
• provide within 180 days if unavailable
• POE/Inland CIC Forwards top copy of the completed Confirmation of Permanent
• Residence document to the CPC scanning facility in accordance with
• normal batch processing (same day or next day—according to local
• office volumes)
• CPC Performs data verification and alias search to create dominant client
• ID for PR card creation
• CPC Scans and digitally records the photograph and signature
• CPC Transmits scanned information to CPF together with FOSS Client
• Record
• CPF Prints PR card and forwards to CIC (or client) by mail

they told that snaps submitted at time or arrival are not up to specification, so I have to submit 2 Snaps for each person in their office. I have to go to their office with passport and COPR.
It is specifically mentioned that I can't send pics by mail.
Date given is 25th July if otherwise I want to change.

That's good news! It means you are finally out of the queue and in the system. You should get your card pretty soon.

not sure whether 'in process' status means that they will request for photos in sometime.. waiting to hear from CIC..

I am very upset to read this message because i left Canada 2 weeks after coming our landing. What if i am also asked to submit photographs personally to their office.

Is there any way to avoid personal visit to CIC office for submitting photographs ?. What about those who left Canada after landing ?. Can't we appoint representative to submit our photographs. CIC know that there are thousands of immigrants who leave Canada before receiving PR. They must consider this fact when asking for resubmittion of photographs.

If i am asked by CIC to submit our photographs personally, it will cost me approximately CAD 5000 (cost of air ticket for flying back to Canada for submitting photographs).

Don' extrapolate this blindly because you did it or somebody else that you know did it. Looking at the big picture, this situation might be negligible to CIC.

It is a risk to go back to where you moved from without receiving the PR card, regardless what reasons you have. You did it, you are gonna take this risk.

I am on the same situation like as you..and waiting for local CIC contact me...where are you? I am living in Waterloo location.

I landed on May 14 @ Rainbow Bridge and received my PR card on 22 July. Hope it helps others to estimate when their cards could come.All the best!!.
