Hi as per CIC call centre agent information my wife pr card was wrongly sent to Calgary instead of Montreal due to misunderstanding in name as some1 else also landed in Calgary with my wife name. CIC agent said it will take 6-8 weeks for pr card to be come back to their office and then they would dispatch it again to the correct address. My question is my wife COPR date was expired in April can she return to Canada by car through US with expired COPR?

Called CIC this morning and got a shock. The guy said processing time for April landing is 92 days + 7-10 days for mailing. It doesn't make sense to me though I'm almost near to the 90 days mark and people landed early April started receiving their cards. Did anyone else from April landing hear this story ?
Processing times for PR cards are improving, but until recently the website showed 90+ days as the estimate. So it makes sense that those of us who landed in April might have to wait up to 90 days for our cards.

Guys, need your advise

My PR card application was sent to verification because immigration officer at landing missed a few boxes on top of my COPR
(she didnt fill out POE info and didnt put the date I became a PR)
However she signed the letter at the bottom and left her ID number.

I went to Service Ontario this morning to renew the Health Card and they refused because "BECAME PR ON...." box wasnt filled in.
After I contacted CIC call centre again and they confirmed that it probably could be the reason of why it went to verification dept.
Call centre agent suggested me to mail them Request to Amend Record of Landing, Confirmation of Permanent Residence or Valid Temporary Resident Documents (IMM 5218)

the processing time for the amendment of COPR is 6 months. its insane
however I can apply for urgent service as I satisfy their urgent-processing-criteria

Question

Does it make sense to apply for COPR amendment or I just have to sit and wait since it's already in verification dept anyway?
What would be the best choice?

For freshly landed folks - please take your time after your landing and check every single line in your COPR; officers make mistakes; they are humans. And after all we've bee through we have to stay strong cuz its not over yet.

thx for the suggestions

Wow, those border people and CIC or whoever processes PR cards just make all kinds of mistakes. Fortunately my border officer only made one mistake on my CoPR and it didn't mess up my renewal of SIN/Health coverage/driver license - he filled in the signature date for both himself and me, which was nice, except my date was wrong

No wonder people get their landing records full of mistakes..

OMG, I feel sorry for you. If I were you probably I would wait for the verification dept to communicate to me. Verification process window is smaller than the amendment timeline I guess. What do you feel red_apple ?

True. I landed on Apr 2nd, its going to be 90 days in a week and I guess thats the reason Call center is giving this timeline. From the trend rt now people who did early April landing should get PR cards processed by this month end and receive it July 1st or 2nd week.

I am thinking to sent it for urgent amendment anyways cuz I might need health services. That way at least I get the correct COPR to renew the health card.
Ohhhhh maaaaaan..... Very disappointed....

In case you need health service, can you pay then get reimbursed after you get this sorted out? I mean you become PR right after you land so you're supposed to be covered since then.

Just an idea - could you apply for a health card as someone who has been "approved in principle" for permanent residence, instead of a permanent resident?

You can apply for a health card without having the PR Card. I did it. It won't be sent to you until you've been a Permanent Resident for 90 days though. I got my Health Card and my PR Card the same day, Yesterday.

Nope, you have to have landed. There's no such thing as "approved in principle". It's either you're a PR meaning you've landed or, you're not (haven't landed, denied, etc).

I need a proof of legal status in Canada from CIC which in my case is COPR.
My COPR is missing info on POE and the key date ....thanks to the landing officer..
Since I'm residing in Canada since 2010 on work visa; I am using the health card I had for 4 years -so I wouldnt have to wait 90 days...
