Update: So CIC sent us an email after my enquiry (brother in law helped us restore her email). "The photograph does not meet the required specifications. It is therefore impossible to produce the card until you provide the following..."

My wife and daughter went to the same photographer, on the same day, had the same photo size, same everything except the face. I double checked the photos and specs before landing. My daughter got her PRC yet my wife has to do it again. Ugh! I can't wait to be done with these clowns.

I am sorry..I had to giggle..."Ugh! I cant wait to be done with these clowns"...I feel your pain...It will be over soon!

Just wanted to inform that my PR card has finally arrived last Friday, after 5 months of waiting :-D
(I had to call them several times till they informed me that there was some problem with my photos(face was too big or smth)).
They don`t bother to inform the applicant if there is any problem.

I called to check on mine yesterday . They said mailed on July 22. But they mailed to my physical address instead of to the community mailbox I gave them so Canada post said they would have sent it back. So I called and got CIC to change the address. Now have to wait to see if it gets back to CIC and can't call to check for four weeks.
Have to get signature notoraized to sell SA house this week and hope notary will accept my passport as only ID.
Update......Called CIC today and they say no one changed my address and I have to submit online change address form and Solemn Declaration and will be four months to get. But how will I ever get when they won't recognize my address? I live in rural area and postal service only recognizes community mailbox. For example my address is SS2, Site#, Comp#, city and province. So when I filled out change of address form I had to put this address which probably looks like a post office box.

Anyone know the average time to wait for PR card once new pictures were sent? They received new pics about a month ago..why they asked for them I'll never understand, since we made sure to send photos according to the new specifications in the original application and they were given to the officer at my hubby's landing. Thanks in advance for the info!

did you ever get a confirmation from them saying they got the new pics?

Just to share.

VO asked us to bring 2 photos of the latest dimensions when we got the COPR by mail (VO did not ask us to send in new photos).

Spouse landed July 28 at Vancouver airport. The border officer did not ask for photo, and when I asked him, he said it was not necessary.

I insisted that he included the photos with the PR Card application. I said "we have it here anyway, just in case it is really needed or we'll be in real trouble". He put the photos in a small plastic bag, and stapled it to the application.

Anyway, we got the PR card around Sept 10.

Reading the experiences here, it looks like we were quite lucky.

Still no PR card for us! Going on 4 months. My husband spoke with Immigration a couple of weeks ago and they said he should have it by October. Anyone else who landed in JUNE still waiting for theirs?

Hi folks,

My wife (who was the main applicant) still waiting for her PR card. My child and I got it already 2 weeks ago (we landed in early June 2016). Can anyone please advise on which number should I call CIC for the same?

Thanks a bunch!!

Received PR card today. Landed May 30th.
CIC sent to my street address so it never arrived.
Called the number on the CIC website three different days and got told they sent to my street address and now they fixed it and would send to community mailbox. Third time I called they said they only show street address and I had to go online to change address and then fax solemn declaration. They said would take four more months.sent the fax last week and received PR card today.

hello people
Does anybody have experience with traveling out of Canada right after landing interview without receiving PR card?
Do you think it is possible to travel without PR card and somebody sending it via post when it arrives?

If you read the forum, some people claim that's what they do. You would just have to be careful that the card is not lost when sent to you overseas.

Canada does not have passport check leaving the country. The airlines check the passport as a matter of identity confirmation, and the PR card is not required. It's coming back that's the problem.

If you really need to travel back to Canada while the PR card is not available yet, you can apply for a permit at the local Visa Office. It's not that you cannot leave, just that it is a lot more problematic without the PR card.
