Hi guys, sorry if this should be obvious, but when you refer to pictures for the PR card, which are you referring to? Pictures submitted with the initial PR application? When submitting the passport? During landing? I actually didn't have my picture taken when I landed earlier today, but should I have been asked to?

Not if you included them with your application...but, if you applied prior to November 2015 there's a chance (perhaps a good chance) that the photos will need to be redone, since CIC changed the specs. This has caused ridiculous delays for some people in receiving their PR Card. You won't know for sure unless/until you get a letter from CIC asking for new photos.

Glad you enjoyed your landing at Boundary Bay. :)

We sent in 8 pictures with our initial application.

When we got PPR, they asked us to send in two new passport size pictures. This is the picture that is on my spouse's PR card. Hope this helps.

Appreciate it! Same case as mine. I got the PPR email last month and it came with instructions to send 2 photos with these specs: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf. One came back to me attached to the COPR copy taken by the border officer when I landed. I assume (hope) the other one will be used for the PR card.

I think that the one they have on your COPR is going to be used as the picture for your PR card. As it says on the back of the PR card where you landed etc.

The old PR cards used to have relatively small picture images but the new PR cards have massive photos of the person.

The new PR cards are dominated by the picture compared with the old cards.

My husband's PR card arrived in the mail today!!

My wife's PR card arrived today also! 43 days from landing inland.

I was quite surprised to see it arrive this quickly - at our interview the agent said it would likely be 8-12 weeks - we assumed closer to the 12 weeks!

I called to check on mine yesterday . They said mailed on July 22. But they mailed to my physical address instead of to the community mailbox I gave them so Canada post said they would have sent it back. So I called and got CIC to change the address. Now have to wait to see if it gets back to CIC and can't call to check for four weeks.
Have to get signature notoraized to sell SA house this week and hope notary will accept my passport as only ID.

The photos are now identical to passport photos, except for the information on the back (from the photographer).

My partner landed at the start of June, and we got a request for new photos mailed the first week of August, ugh. Sent new ones in two days later, and feeling pretty frustrated. Do new photos restart the clock entirely, or is there some processing that has been done, or should we otherwise be expecting a shorter time? He crosses the border fine with NEXUS (we took his COPR and added it to his records), but every time we have to use a regular passport crossing back into Canada, we either get snark from the CBSA about not having a PR Card, or they just full on treat him like an American despite having the COPR in their hands, until we push back :(

Hello everyone,
I got my PR card today. Please see my timeline below:
Date of landing: 6th July, 2016.
I was told at the airport that the processing time for the PR card will take 6 weeks to 2 months or even 3 months. I was not asked to resubmit photos.
PR card dispatched on 13th August, 2016.
PR card received on 17th August, 2016.
My PR card took 37 days (which agrees with the current processing time) to process and 3 business days to get to me after it was dispatched.
Number of days from landing to receiving PR card : 42

Thanks to everyone on this forum. You guys rock. Best wishes to all those still waiting.
