Thank you! you probably are right, I should wait. It's just this whole process was so long for me, I don't want to wait and want to finish it.
Hope you get your passport back very soon!!!!

I advice u to wait till u return since u already bought ticket. it is taking longer now for them to issue the pr visa. I have been waiting for 23 days now without any sign and not even sure if it will take more than a month to get my passport back :(.

thank you, it was and still is a long journey indeed.
good luck to all who are still waiting to complete theirs.

I did email CIC last week, (sep 26) and today got a passport request. So your theory might be correct.

I was getting a bit anxious and emailed CIC last week too. Yesterday, we got the request! :) Another step taken on the road. Thanks to those of you who suggested emailing.

Congrats! For those of you who are waiting, if your waiting time has been longer than the ongoing trend in the forum, definitely send them an email once in a while (I suggest once a month).

Hi, for those who check their ecas status very often, I noticed this in CIC web page:
"The Client Application Status site is updated weekly, usually on Tuesdays."
I am not sure how this is gonna help, but anyways just wanted to share.
I never saw that before.

I have been sending CIC an email every 2 weeks.. No replies from them at all!

My status was changed to DM on Sep 04 and no word from them at all about my passport. I am getting frustrated..

Hang in there, and be patient.
You've sent them a message, so they know about it. Make sure though to include all the info: they need your application # your UCI and your name and DOB. WIth that info they will always link your email to your case. If for some reason any of that info is missing or hard to find within the email, they will most likely just ignore your email.
To simplify, put all that info into the 'subject line'.
I also found that often they will not even reply to my inquiries, that's just the nature of things.
My ECAS also changed to DM around that time, and I got a passport request on Sept 3rd, so yours might be coming soon as well.
good luck!

Hi,

I did my medical exam yesterday and waiting begins again.
What happens after medical is done for those who are from visa exempt countries?
As far as i know there is no PPR process for visa exempt country citizens?
Is it usually faster for us to get the visa in mail?

You'll receive your COPR in the mail. That's the only step after ME for visa-exempt applicants:)

Thats almost 7 weeks since status changed to DM. Has anyone else seen this?

hopefully you'll get your PPR soon. My status changed to DM in early september as well
and PPR came about a month later.
