How do you guys find out when your medical is received by CIC? I called the call center but they said that they don't have access to my file! (which I know they are lying)
Do they respond by email?

I sent this to CIC:

I did the medicals for my family and myself on 15 July 2013 and the results were sent by the doctor to CIC on 16 July 2013. But the ECAS system still does not show that the medicals have been received. Kindly can I know if the medicals were received by CIC and the status of my application?

And got this reply:

Thank you for your email regarding your application for permanent residence to Canada.

I can confirm that we have received your family's medical examination results. Your file is currently under review.

We will be in contact when there have been further developments with the processing of the file.
---

that sounds weird and super fast for ur Dr. to sent in ur medical results to cic. u need to apply for ur gcms notes immediately and discover what is putting a hold on ur file

Hello,

Does talking to the local MP help you find out the status of your application?
When I sent an email to ottawa office, I just got a generic response saying your app is following its due course blah blah.
According to GCMS notes, its been sitting there for the last 3-4 months.
it was last reviewed in June.

I really want to know if there is any way i can find out the status of my app.

When was the last time you emailed CPPO? You can email them about once a month. Include all required information and they normally replies in about 5 business days.

if ur currently outside of Canada, u need to pay $5 fee and follow the guidelines. I guess someone from within Canada will apply on ur behalf. I am not sure about this as I am currently and have applied within Canada. other members can assist u on this case.

You can order from visafile.info, if not inside canada. I applied through this website and in 30 days you will get your gcms notes. It takes 25 dollars. Hope it helps.

Hey, wanted to thank you again for this suggestion. I did email CIC last week, (sep 26) and today got a passport request. So your theory might be correct. To recap, I had my ECAS changed to 'decision made' in early september, so I emailed CIC asking about the status, and whether anything is still required of me.
Today got the passport request and BIODATA form attached.

Now I am wondering if I should sen my passport right away or wait, since I have some travelling planned for the end of October. Already got the tickets. I was thinking of leaving Canada for a week and going to the states around October 30th. Right now it seems that they are stamping passports with PR visa in about 20 days, so technically I could be sending my passport now and still receiving it before I travel, or maybe I should just wait till I return and submit my passport then.... oh, decisions.....

I had a similar situation. I saw my status changed to DM in the first weekend of September. I emailed them on the following Tuesday morning. And in response i got the PPR.

Well i can't definitely say that both actions are connected, but there is a chance that the email might have triggered the officer to send the email.

And now, when i've got my passport back, i see that my Immigrant visa was stamped at the last week of August, perhaps 29. So they might have changed the DM status then but i noticed it couple of days later.

Moral of the story. Send an email....if you haven't already...wont hurt.

I advice u to wait till u return since u already bought ticket. it is taking longer now for them to issue the pr visa. I have been waiting for 23 days now without any sign and not even sure if it will take more than a month to get my passport back .
