I applied June 19th.. I emailed them after 30 days past and they replied saying they are awaiting some documentation to finalize the file.

That is strange..did they tell you what documentation are they waiting on..

Guys same with me. Get my medical request on 29th May and completed my medicals on 5th June. 23rd ecas shows medicals received. I sent a mail to CIC and they got response last week and they said they will advise me when I have to pay the RPRF and Biodata.

I resigned from my current job and informed CIC regarding the same. Do you guys thing this might be holding in my case. I don't have job and waiting for BOWP. I also raised the GCMS note but will be getting any response by end of this month only.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does BOWP stand for? So many acronyms... hard to keep track!

Regarding some of the applicants waiting for a long time for the passport request after medicals were submitted: Do you guys believe it may have something to do with the published processing times listed on the CIC website? These are statistics that are extremely important for political reasons. Do you guys think that there is a possible motivation behind delaying some of the applicants after medicals have been received? I am noticing larger delays with files that were filed more recently. IE: one poster has been waiting since April... however, when looking at his/her overall timeline, it has only been roughly 14 months. Is it possible that CIC is intentionally pushing these applications back in order to statistically validate their published processing times? I am posing an open question in this forum since this has been going around in my mind for quite some time now.

Just got confirmation from CIC via email that they received my medical exam results. I sent the email with the medical receipt attached on july 31 and got the confirmation today. ECAS is still not updated but I am not worried. The wait for PPR begins now.. :)

Hi Guys,

After 2 months of waiting patiently and practicing CIC's usual advice for 'keeping the correspondence to the minimum', i asked CIC about the delay in my case.

They responded in 2 biznes day.

Their response : They need scanned copy of my new passport.

This copy was already sent to them back in Feb this year and I even got a confirmation from CIC about updating my records. Acknowledgement of my new passport is noted on my GCMS report also, since March this year.

No clue if its their new trick to pretend they are working, while in reality they were actually just sitting on my file and my email has prompted them to work on it. In any case, I have again emailed them passport copy. And I'm not sure if this was the reason that my Security hasn't started for the past 2-3 months, even when my medicals were passed long ago.

Actionable Insight For You: If you have been waiting for a long time (read:30days max), it may be a good idea to 'poke' CIC and ask about the progress on your case. Remind them the last request or action that was completed by you. In every email, even if its a response to their email - please have your complete vital info at the bottom of your mail - name, cec file no. ime no, dob, pob and your current address. Perhaps there is some truth when people have said that CIC has forgotten their case. Not sure how that happens.

Hopefully, i get some 'actual' positive response (read:PPR).
