Hi guys! for those who are bound to Winnipeg, manitoba you can join our group page "TEAM MANILA" in facebook. I am also a new immigrant here in manitoba. I arrived 2008. Everything is nice here except for the weather. I experienced my first winter like -35 but last year winter was just about -15 or -20. Work wise, you dont need to worry bec. there's a lot of companies hiring here aside from the staffing agencies where you can apply and they'll look work for you. Hi. I think pareho lang narelease ang PPR natin (July 30) but i have to renew our green passport first (august 3) thats why last august 18 lang nareceive ng embassy ang passports namin.
Just a little advise to all na kapag green passports kayo eh pwede kayo pumunta sa directors office ng dfa together with your letter of request from embassy. They will consider it to renew your passports without appointment pero nabasa ko rin sa iba na pwede pa rin i process ang green passport as long as 6 months valid before your departure sa canada and have enough pages para sa visa, departure and arrival stamp.
Another advise - Air Canada have promo until December 15 departure only. Fare: USD694.00 (including taxes) - Winnipeg fare
Heres my timeline:
Medical submitted to embassy - May 18 (st. lukes)
PPR received - July 30 (sent thru mail dated July 19)
Passport received by embassy - August 18
ECAS status - on process

@ alimosen - try to call air canada @ 8404626-28. office nila sa 132 c. palanca jr. street makati city.
they have special rate if you will travel ng weekday kesa weekend. they have rates for vancouver, toronto, winnipeg, halifax, quebec. PAL rate for vancouver starts at usd510 plus taxes per person if flight still available. if not kasi eh pataas ng pataas ang fare.
u have to ask now, they will give you option date naman to issue the ticket. ipareserve mo lang muna at least may idea na how much will you pay for the tickets.
try to call din travel agency - 8126051 -54 (20 yrs in service / makati). they handle corporate accounts like unilever, national bookstore etc. so sure din dyan.

@ alimosen - i havent received my passport with visa yet. August 17 ko lang nasend sa CEM kasi pinachange ko pa yung green sa e-passport. pero kung ndi ko na pinarenew cguro nai pass ko na last august 2 kya 2 weeks delayed.
ang nakalagay sa visa eh yung date of issue/date of expiry, document no., entry, category, passport no. and file no. and naka attach dun ang confirmation of PRF and other original docs na pass mo sa CEM.

I've been into that situation before, aside from the games that I completed I did a lot of house repaint works which covers a wide area of our house. Waiting time is really stressful so the best thing we could do is to focus on other items which is of interest to us.
