Hi I don't think they email us that they received the passport ..we basically have to understand that from the Canada post tracker ..my tracker showed that they got the passport on 13th jan and I did not receive any email from CIC..although I am not sure if they email saying they gave stamped the passport and are sending it back? Anyone..?

right i think they do mail when the passport are ready to be dispatched. i was hoping that they do mail when passports are recieved as well ! since they mailed me back when I had sent an update on the file .

hello all,

CIC received my passport on January 13th. From older comments - its looks like it's gonna take min 20 days before I even start thinking about getting it back :o :o

Cheers

Ours were delivered on the 14th. Please let us know when your tracker will get activated.

Can you clarify your question? Which office did you send your passport to and how long ago?
The answer your second question depends on your visa office. If you sent your passport after you've cleared your medicals and paid the RPRF your security check is complete and they will just stamp the visa in your passport. In NDVO and some other offices they request your passport at the earlier stage, before you've cleared your background check. It's hard to predict how long it could take in this case--2-to-3 months at the very least, depending on your country of origin, travel history, etc.

Hi All,

I got passport request on 17-Nov-2014 with 30 days timeline to send the passport, but I requested CIC for extension because I was plan to travel outside of Canada. CIC gave me the extension until end of Feb 2015.

Now I sent the passport on 14-Jan-2015, it reached CPC-O on 16-Jan-2015 afternoon.

Hope it will dispatch within 2-3 weeks.

Regards,
PKS_SKS
