We have sent in our passport as requested last month, but because we need to leave the country that we are currently in(we're in Hong Kong and our employment visa has expired), we have emailed the immigration to ask about our passport. And now, they have sent us back the passport without any changes to it or no visas, so we're totally puzzled. We wonder if we need to resend the passport again, once we travel out of hong kong? Or we have to wait for another PPR? And what if we change the address, does it affects the processing time or the file has to transfer again to another visa office nearer to us?

Anyone met with this kind of situation?

You have to wait for another PPR. Send them an email indicating your change of address & current visa office where you want to stamp the visas.

Send a mail to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca to change you address and Visa office. It might take some/long time. But at this point I dont think you have much options.

I sent in my passport and it was received today (March 20, 2014).

My e-mail didn't ask for any photos either. Is this now standard or did they miss mentioning it in the e-mail? I didn't send any, just the passport.

and usually how long is the visa valid for because I am planning to travel home and do my landing on my return .

Did you send them an email? Or they just happen to inform you?

I had e-mailed letting them know that I had mailed in my passport, and to confirm that the conditions in STEP 1 didn't apply to me.
