I'm thinking of sending one email requesting estimated return time. If I don't get it back before next weekend, I should cancel all my travel plans because cic will most probably be shut down during last 2 weeks of December.

Do you also think it is a good idea to request stamping before next week? Or just ask when it will be done?

just give them a email with your ticket itinerary... and ask them whether its possible to get it before christmas or not

like i just said on the other thread....CIC will not be shut down, but will operate with the very minimum number of staff. for most, vacations will run from the week of xmas...so around the 23rd till about january the 3rd. all non-essential personnel will be off. i'd say that if you dont get anything this week or by mid next week, its probably a good bet that there wont be anything until the new year.

thats not to say it couldnt happen, but perhaps better to plan on not getting it. anyways, thats just my perspective as a public service employee. wish you good luck tho!

Nope! I'd rather not disclose....hope you dont mind. Its nothing personal. Just dont feel comfortable disclosing identifiable information. But its def not Canada Post. Its got to do with infrastructure management.

I have received my passport request but I have a question for submitting it, my query is that can I mail my passport directly to CPP-OTTAWA or should i submit it to my Immigration lawyer so that they can forward it.!!!!
Is there any harm if i submit it using my address coz till now cic have communicated using my lawyer address

Yeah, I dont think your passport will come before but I know some people have gotten theirs in 10days. You can email them next week and tell them you are travelling (if thats the case).

For me I dont have alot of departure/arrival stampings of different countries. I have been in Canada for 8years and I have not left North American since
