If a person has stayed in different cities/states in India, will a PCC issued by local police station work or is the PCC needed from the passport office??

I have heard that only PCC obtained from passport office is valid for all India

Apply from Passport office we can only obtain the same if we have requested from embassy.... Fill form and walk to PSK you dont need appointment for the same. ....
Simple form of 2 pages and if the current address matchs with passport address you dont need to worry but if its different you need the proof of address and Passport with the letter.

any one help me please.I got MR last 19th and we did medical.Now We got the medical request for the dependent visa applied 2 months back.Now we are in a delema either we have to submit the pass port to NDVO along with other documents or not .As far as i know it can take up to 1 year to get a decision form NDVO on the PR application.I want my family with me as early as possible. So I I wish to proceed with dependent visa application too.Any one know about if we do not submit our passports now any problem would occur with the PR .

Dear Friend it seems confusing.... If you had already done MR thats fine send your passport to VO if not planning for any trip in next 6-8 months. NDVO may take 1 month to 12 month. They will issue visa before your current medical expire. It is observed in most of cases and they will issue visa valid till 1 year from MR date so if they keep your passport for 2 month your entry permit will be for 10 months and if they issue PR after 6 month you will have 6 months to enter in Canada....

It is certainly leading to tremendous backlog for Visa issues...If there is any experienced memebr in this group...plz throw light whether its way of doing things at NDVO i.e. dealing MR/PP/Med requests at one time and issuing Visas at another time...if it was impact of strikes it would have affected MR/PP/Med requests as well...views solicited!!

HI Its all about Nova Scotia Office. NDVO is following instructions as per Ministrial Instructions. And most of us almost lost faith
in CIC Offices. I had already applied for Australian Visa in June and now will get decision in 2 months once i provide PCC and Other documents the my Case Officer.
Its so fast to be with EOI system everything is online.

I am in canada on work visa and 2 months back {June 2013} I applied for dependent visa for my family.But before any decision made on that application MR issued on my PR application {which I submitted in June 2010 . Now NDVO has issue both the applications MR in a week difference.So according to my consultant NDVO have replied to the dependent visa application which says that they sent a corrier today{which might be the passports of my family},,because my family's passports were already submitted to NDVO along with the dependent visa application.So I am in confusion that if my family got the visa{dependent} why we will wait for one more year for the PR visa.We can start our life while still the PR is in processing.But if we submit the PPS to NDVO with the medicals and other documents of PR how can they travel to me . So here I am requesting to you to help me with a reply regards is it is must that we have to submitt our passports with in the time frame mentioned on the MR request.And also I did not receive a passport request with the MR request .Imean there is nothing mentioned about the passport has to submit now .So I wonder if we can submit all other doccuments with in the time frame given and only the ppts later.I guess some of the applicants in this forum would be in a situation of working abroad and need their passport with them for travelling purpose.So they might have not submitted their passport with MR .I hope some one can reply to me regards.Thank you in advance.

I have a query friends. My present residential address is different from the address mentioned in the Passport. If I apply for a PCC from Reginal passport office/Passport Seva Kendra:

1. How much time will be taken by Passport office to issue PCC?
2. Is a physical verification of the present residential address conducted by the Passport office?
