Family sponsored spousal, outside Canada application. Processing is almost completed.
I submitted a copy of my passport over a month ago, as per instructions for USA citizen, and haven't yet received it, however my online account shows a COPR number.
Deadline for landing is Jan. 24, 2025, only six weeks from now. However we have planned travel in New Zealand for the whole month of January, so I need my COPR asap, like within the next couple weeks.

1. Long ago my application was farmed out to Manila. Will the COPR be mailed from there? Otherwise I fear the Canada postal strike will prevent it from coming.
2. I am currently visiting in Canada. If I contacted them, would they possibly send me an email copy of COPR? Or could I possibly get it from Service Canada?
3. Or would they possible grant a one month extension for the deadline?

You were in Canada when you submitted copy of passport?

I'd suggest a call to IRCC to find out what's going on. Best suggestions I can make:
-COPR would generally be mailed/couriered to you (or held for pickup at a VFS, less frequent) if you were outside of Canada.
-Were you in Canada when you submitted? They may choose to do this as a virtual landing (you'd get ecopr).

I suspect the issue is your outland app / being in Canada / then submitting by mail instead of doing the virtual landing process from the beginning. If they do the virtual landing before you depart at end of year, you should be fine. So you may wish to call and ask what they're doing / do they know you're in Canada / will you have to leave and come back or will you get the virtual landing.

Otherwise:
-it's relatively routine for them to extend medicals and hence landing period for those in Canada or other locations with no serious medical issues (i.e. communicable disease), esp for spousal.
-with a USA passport you don't have to worry quite so much because you'd still be able to fly back on that passport (eg if you don't get PR card before your big trip).
