Hi,

I have an indian passport an d i am currently working in Belgium (on deputation from my indian soft ware company) since January , 2014. My work permit is valid until January-2015 and my belgian Residence permit is valid until april 2015.
I applied for a Visitor Visa for Canada and it got refused because of the following reasons. The refusal letter states:

You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident.
In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:
1)Your travel history
2)Your immigration status
3)Purpose of visit

For the travel history, as asked i submitted copy of the my Belgian visa and passport copy was also attached in the application. I don't understand the reason stated as 'Immigration status'- I submitted a copy of my residence permit in Belgium that is valid until 04-Apr-2015.
The purpose of visit is purely tourism, so I did not have an invite letter. But apart from this reason can anybody help me understand the first two reasons for rejection? Will an invite letter from somebody with a student permit in Canada be effective?

I need to go to Canada in December and i am going to apply again. But i don't want to make any further mistakes.

Thanks in advance for your help!

1)Your travel history

How long did you plan to travel? Do you have trips to other countries that require VISA?

2)Your immigration status

Your immigration status in Belgium expires in early 2015, this makes it suspicious that you are planning to illegaly immigrate to Canada as your next move.

3)Purpose of visit

What did you submit as proof of your intentions? Bookings? Detailed itinerary?

Not really. In your case the ties to your home/residence country are too weak. So knowing a person can be good for "Purpose of visit" but bad for "ties to home/residence country" so unless that is what you are actually doing then don't try to feed CIC with information.
