We are currently in the process of me sponsoring my husband. We were wondering if after we submit the application and paperwork if he could still apply for a visitors visa while things were being processed? He has traveled to Canada before on a visitors visa but it has since expired.

you can try, however there is no guarantee that he will be approved. you will need to show strong ties to his home country, such as a job, assests like a home, vehicles, money in the bank, etc...

To be honest, it is very tough to get one....Be ready for rejection....but if you get it then that's a blessing

Hey guys,

I have a question:

My partner is looking to come to Canada for couple of weeks on visitors visa since our wedding is still a year away. But my partner needs to apply for the visitor visa and in case it gets rejected, could this rejection pose any kind of problem when I file the spouse sponsorship papers after marriage?

Thanks.

My younger sister in India recently got married. Her husband has PR but got laid off. Can I, as a sister, apply for her tourist visa to come to Canada, while her sponsorship application is in progress.

She is the one who applies for the TRV. You can certainly provide an invitation letter but I think it would make much more sense for her husband to do this.
