Hey Bryanna, today the status is updated. I heard like if the visa is approved we will be getting a mail ? Is that for TRV Visit as well or for any specific visa application types ?

Visa application, tracking ID No.20170426INBOTRV***** – Your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office BANGALORE, on 16/05/2017 to the Canada Visa Application Centre. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website
There are no approval emails for a TRV. You will know if you're approved when you get your passport back..... or if you link your application to your online account and the update would say 'Final decision: Approved/closed'

Hope you and your wife have been issued TRVs

Hi . Does anyone know what should I write in invitation letter to invite my dad during pregnancy. My mom already got the visa now I would like to invite my dad as well. But my representative saying it is not appropriate to say " I would like to invite my dad to help me with the newborn and help me during pregnancy. Because this reason sounds more appropriate if I want to invite my mom "
Please help from anyone will be much appreciated. And if anyone can also send me template for invitation letter.

Thanks

We have seen refusals for parents who would like to visit to take care of their daughter/her baby as this is working illegally on a TRV.

You can invite your dad to visit you and your family + sightseeing, etc

Hello
I applied for my parents visa online and only my mom has got visa, my dad's status is still in progress for the last 3 weeks since my mom got visa. Has anyone experienced or heard about rejection of one when both applied together? The delay is just worrying.

Thanks.

Greetings.

I just checked my account and it says. A final decision has been made. Your application has been approved. I haven't yet received my passport, but I'm hoping that this update marks the end of my application, and that I should get a Visa.

So for reference to all the newcomers on to this forum, I applied online on April 9 , 2017 from India. Got a PPR on May 14. So it took 24 working days to get a PPR. When I checked the processing time on April 9, it was 18 working days, and on May 8 , it was 22 working days. So it can be quite assured that an average application would take somewhere around the given processing time. I've seen many others on this forum who got it on time. However , there are many others whose application is taking well beyond the given processing time .I think the experts on this forum will have a better idea about their application.

Quick tips from a 20 year old applicant. I reiterate, I'm no expert, but this is what I've noticed.

1) Make sure your application shows strong ties to India. Your main objective is to convince the officers that you'll be leaving Canada at the end of your stay. There's an optional document called letter of explanation. You should definitely provide this letter as it gives you a chance to explain why you're visiting Canada, and why you have to come back to India.
2) I think the documents submitted in Proof of Means carries a lot of weight. Showing that you are very stable financially adds strength to your application
3) There is small box in the application " Funds available for my stay ". I think a sufficient amount of Canadian dollars should be entered here, which should be backed up by proof of means. You don't want them to think you don't have any money when you're in Canada.
4) Calling/emailing/ fax won't really help. All you'll be getting are standard replies. The embassy will have too many applications, and I think unless it's a medical emergency, they will refuse to expedite your application. You can try filling a web form(CSE) after the given processing time. I didn't do it, so i don't have any knowledge there. In the end, it's a waiting game.
5) Don't book your flight tickets unless you have a Visa in hand. I made this mistake and many others did as well. You might lose a lot of money in postponing/cancelling. It also makes the wait for the visa a little easier knowing you don't have money on the line.
6) Finally have faith. It's a nerve wrecking , arduous wait. There will be people who have applied after you would have gotten their Visa. But that doesn't mean that you won't get your visa. Lot of times, the processing isn't done in chronological order.(background checks, additional documents to be verified, US visa holder , many such reasons). Keep waiting, your application will be checked at some point.

I want to thank everyone on this forum for sharing information about their application. This forum helped a lot. Special thanks to Bryanna, the expert without whom most of us would have been lost. Good luck everyone ! I'm sure you'll get your visa soon :)

Yup, you've been granted a TRV. Congrats :):)

You've understood the TRV application process really well.... and you've summed it up so lucidly and perfectly

Hello Bryanna and all other senior member,

My parents put their application for visitor visa on 29th April-2017. Its been now almost 24 days over but still no reply or not asking for any additional information neither from me nor from them. The visa office is Banglore-India.

What you think ??? How long it can be ??? Should I Call IRCC Call center or submit Web Form???

Please reply me if you can or share your views if anyone has put the file in mentioned timeline ......

Hi Saurabh,

The visa office has been facing a high volume of applications. That could possibly explain the delay.

The visa office won't ask for any additional documents.... or for clarifications/information unless it is necessary to make a decision.

It's pointless calling the IRCC call centre because the one in Canada won't know the status of an application outside Canada. In any case, call centre agents do not have any additional information/updates other than what is currently available to you.

You can send a Web form or an email. However, if their visit is not really urgent/critical then I suggest you wait for a week or so before sending the CSE

Cheers

Hi all!

I received a passport submission request on the 18th May, I'm currently in Singapore right now but I applied in India. I will be travelling back to India on the 29th. That would be 8 working days since I received the email, before I can submit my passport.

Would that cause any problem with my visa status? Also, I had to change my hotel bookings - they were originally on 23rd but since my travel dates changed, I had to change the hotel bookings as well.

This is really worrying me! I hope it doesn't affect my visa. :(

Please advice!

You have 30 days to submit your passport for visa stamping after you've received the passport request. So you're good to submit your passport after you return from Singapore.

No, this will not affect your TRV stamping (it's not visa status).

The visa officer does not make any decision based on the intended travel dates and/or flight or hotel bookings of the applicant. Also, it is not necessary that you must fly to Canada on the date you had stated in your TRV application

So, don't worry :)

Hi All,

I have submitted a paper based TRV application for my wife on May 08 2017 from India.
Recently when i was trying to link the application to online CIC account, l just found out that the passport validity details i entered were little incorrect (entered month as date and date as month) for the passport issue date in the paper application.

Forum Members,
I am really confused and frustrated now, because the decision is not made on my wife visa application; and i don't know what the visa officer will do with my wife TRV application (whether reject/ put out a question) in this regard?

Can anyone suggest what would happen in my case. I am feeling tensed now and totally down since i have gone through a lot already. Request for help if any one has any experience with such cases.

Thank You.

There's no way of knowing or guessing. It can get frustrating and stressful, but there's nothing else that you can do except to wait it out.

You'll have to continue waiting patiently for a decision

Thank you Bryanna for the reply.
I'll keep waiting for a reply from CIC regarding my wife TRV application.
One query - I understand that for an immigration officer, the application form details becomes primary source of information; and the rest all documents (passport copies and original passports that we have submitted becomes secondary source of information or only supporting information). But does the immigration officer wait till the 40 day period (approx. time after my application filing) to validate my application and reject or acknowledge the error and requests for data correction ?

And from my end to validate the data loaded for in CIC office- i'll try linking my paper application to online CIC account. Today, I have exhausted my 5 tries with miscellaneous issues. Thanks to this forum members, now i know how to link my paper application to online account. Tomorrow i will try to link my application with incorrect information (that we provided in IMM5257E Visitor/ TRV application form) and also with the correct data; will share my experience tomorrow at the same time.

Meanwhile if there is anyone out there reading my post and have any previous experience with such issues, request you to please share the same. At least i will make up my mind about the decision and the waiting i will have to go through again, if required.

Thanks everyone for contributing so much to this forum!!
