Visitors Visa (TRV) Processing time 2016 India

Then it's probably just a regular delay due to a high volume of applications received by the visa office
hello. they have asked for my passport. but in my cic account it says my application is still in progress. Is my Visa approved?

I have received a request for passport for my wife, original passport requested. Just says that much, does this mean visa is approved and they are requesting the passport for stamping? And can this be done by submitting the passport in person?
Also Can I submit the passport directly at the Delhi High Commission. My wife will be travelling to get this done, as I have made my tickets to travel next week.
Any help here would be really appreciated.

You'll know for sure when you get your passport back.The visa office needs your passport to make a final decision. That's why the update says 'In progress'
It's most probably an approval. However, you will know for sure when she gets her processed passport back.
Passports must be submitted to VFS New Delhi. We have come across a couple of cases though where passports were submitted directly to NDVO as those were extremely urgent cases. You'll have to check with the visa office.
Otherwise you can still submit her passport tomorrow with copies of the tickets to VFS and request the visa office for urgent visa stamping. She may get her passport back in 2-3 days through VFS

I would like to invite my brother on visitor visa. He is 19 and going to school. So he can get letter from his school. But I was wondering if he has to show any funds or he can show my parents bank statements?? Since he is dependent on my parents financially.
And also if I need to send him invitation letter.
Please let me know how can I proceed with his application or what documents I need to start the application.

Your brother must submit:
1. Leave approval letter from his school + tuition fee receipts (for the next academic year) + letter stating he is a bona fide student + mark sheets/transcripts + school ID + prints of the school website/school brochure
2. Letter of Financial Support from your parents + their bank statements + 2 years ITRs of your parents
3. Yes, an invitation letter will certainly help + your documents as the host
4. A day-by-day itinerary
5. Is he a member of any sports club/extracurricular activities/Rotaract Club, etc? If yes, then do include evidence + a must-return-by-date event
6. Has he enrolled for any study program or training (apart from his school)?
Generally, it is not easy for a young student to be approved especially if he will be traveling with both parents i.e. no immediate family in India. I suggest you prepare his application well with all possible evidence

Hey Bryanna, today the status is updated. I heard like if the visa is approved we will be getting a mail ? Is that for TRV Visit as well or for any specific visa application types ?
