Why is it that the applications are picked randomly? I see someone who had applied earlier than me is still waiting as well and people who have applied later than us had received a result. Can you throw some light on this?

Hi Anand,

Sometimes the visa office may require additional information about an applicant (could be their employment verification, bank balance verification.... anything).

Or the visa office may check US immigration data (if someone has a previous US visa refusal).

Applications are not processed in a First In First Out basis

Thanks marbusaa. I didn't get email yet. I checked the status manually and saw this update. VFS still showing the application is being processed. Confused now. I linked my paper application to mycic.

Once you link your paper application to your MyCIC account, you will not get any updates through email.

That's why the VFS system update will not change
