Visitors Visa (TRV) Processing time 2016 India

I had applied for Visitor Visa for my mother on Oct 14, 2016 through an online application. Till today it does not show any changes in the status, it just says "Open". Its almost 21 days from the date of application. I am little worried..appreciate your help and views guys, thanks.

There's nothing much that you can do except to wait for a decision. Individual processing time can be faster/take longer than that posted on the IRCC website

Our application has been processing since August 23rd, applied from chandigarh visa office. My parents were coming for wedding in Nov, looks like they are gonna miss it. If we don't hear until 10th, we would like to get passport back and write them feedback.
This is 3rd time TRV and already visited USA multiple times....it's so frustrating..

I suggest you order GCMS notes after your parents gets their TRVs.... it will give you an idea about what's causing a delay despite them having visited earlier

Yeah..will do that..More frustrating is they don't even reply to email inquiry or CSE? It's been month I had opened them...why they even bother to have them on their website..

My first time posting here. I applied for TRV for my parents and they submitted paper applications 3 weeks ago to VFS office in Delhi.

I linked the applications to my CIC account online and all it shows is submitted/open. My parents have received 5-year multiple entry visas for Canada twice in the past and they have visited me few times in the past. They even have 10 year US tourist visa.

Not sure what's causing the delay in processing. Why does it take so long? I don't know why they hold on to the passports for so long. I thought processing was supposed to be faster with CAN+.

Lack of information and lengthy timeframes is very frustrating.

Anyone else applied in Delhi and in the same situation? How long does it typically take to get a response from the Delhi office?

Thanks. The VFS folks told my parents it can take a month or so. Any idea why processing is so slow?

The forms are filled out with bar codes, the applications are showing on my CIC account. So it should not be any different from an online application.

I would have applied online had I known about that option; at least my parents' passports would not have been stuck.

I can understand that.. when i applied paper trv for my wife august 1st week i had to wait approx 2 months to get a decision while my friemds applied online after me got decision in 2 weeks..

Just have to wait amd see the decison hopefully positive for yours .. good luck

Hi Posting an update -

Applied for TRV on - 18th October.
Paper Application at New Delhi VFS.
Application received at New Delhi Visa office - 19th October
Application Approved - 4th November
Passport received - 5th November

Thanks for your views...so does it has to be necessarily after 35 days from the date of application as mentioned on the web site. I had seen people getting request for passport within two weeks of application.

Again as Bryanna explained, it can be faster. And yes there are people who got passport request within two weeks. It all depends on the applicant profile

1. can i apply for them through my online account?
2. do you have sample copy of supporting documents( ex.invitation letter ) or any other. can you please provide it to me.
3. they are in india, as per your experience which way is better online or paper?

Hi,
I had applied online for my TRV. As the very first post of this thread reads, even I received emails that there is an update to the application. But when I open up the website and check for anything new, there isn't any change. What do these messages mean? I had applied online on 2nd of November and it's been a week. Is the time taken normal here? I intend to travel by 1st of December and also have booked my tickets (attached to the application). Should I not panic yet thinking about the time taken? How to deal with this. Kindly help.
