No, you must submit your paper application only to VFS

Hi there, did you receive any updates in Mycic before the passport request?

Thanks.

Hi All

I want to apply TRV for my wife. I am Canadian citizen working with federal govt. I got married in January 2016 and applied for PR for my wife in May.
Her file is currently with NDVO and processing started at 2 August 2016. I want to apply for TRV for her so that I can visit me in Canada till she waits for her PR.
Any help regarding TRV will be appreciated. I will be really thankful if someone who applied earlier can share their invitation letter.

I suggest you read this thread as it has some really good pointers on obtaining a visitor visa while you have a PR in process.

Hello, I amposting because this forum helped me a lot to prepare application for my mom for TRV. now I WANT TO GIVE BACK.
My mom's application was submitted to VFS Chandigarh (paper) and received her visa in 15 days. On the day of submission, application status was "application currently being processed at VAC, Chandigarh" and exactly 15 days later, status changed to " passport dispatched via blue dart courier" and next day passport with TRV visa RECEIVED.

strong points for application: financial assets in India, family ties in India, all required docs mentioned on cic website
on the sponsor side: PAY CHECKS AND NOTICE OF ASSESMENT, INVITATION LETTER

key: be positive and be patient as no one knows if visa will be granted or no.

HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING IN TO PROCESSING TIMES

When paper application is submitted, people at VFS help if there is any error in the application and they would fill it for you at some service fee
I recommend invitation letter as it shows a lot about the sponsor's responsibility.
invitation letter needs to be detailed but precise including purpose of visit eg any vacation plan, any celebration etc, length of stay, if you would sponsor trip, how many ppl live at your home( to show if there is enough accommodation for your parents to stay comfortably), your occupation supported by your pay stubs.
